BLACK MESS is a HL2 single player mod with as goal a new single player campaign.
Black Mess Is going to start from the scratch, so be prepaird for the first screens.
in Black Mess you play the role of Zack Trezdin, You wake up in a room with a hospital bed and some terminals. the combines where where trying to brainwash you and turn you into a combine commander, but something did stop them. The CAIC (Combine Artifectal Inteligent Comander) is first trying to capture you, but when that doenst work he is willing to kill you.
You wake up in a facility which is just a few metres under the ground, you mwain goal now is to escape the area and find the only last know resistance outpost in te area. When you reach the outpost, you will need to make an important decision, leave the city or help the resistance destroy CAIC.
CAIC is the leader of the leader of the facility and surrounding area.

Of cource the mod Black Mess has a story. Let me tell you something about Black Mess and the base called CORE where your are playing the mod.
Black Mess is a story about a rebel soldier, a soldier that survived the 7-hour war. He was one of the soldier defending CORE, an inportant base during the 7-hour war. On the end of the war the fight outside the base stopped and the soldiers did surunder to the Combine.
Inside the base there where still soldiers, they where still holdig of the combine. It took the combine 8 hour (without the 7 hour of the war) to take control of the biggest part of the base.
most of the soldiers were killed or captured by the combine, some soldiers did go deep inside the base, they locked themself away from the outside world, the combine where not able to find them, they are still in the base, but where?
Core is base that is conceteced with tunnels (which you see at the end of the demo), the tunnels are leading to other parts the base. If you want to travel though the base, the only way is using these tunnels.
The tunnels are small and you can easely get lost in it, there is almost no light so it is completly dark within the tunnels, this makes it more dificult to navigate trough the base.
every month the combines send 6 squads of soldiers into the tunnels to find the remaining soldiers/rebels inside CORE. None of them ever made it out alive, they did disapear. The combine now know the way in base for 64%.
The base is called CORE because it was and maby even still is the core of human resistance on earth.
Core countains almost everthing that Black Mesa did contain. Only Black Mesa was a sience complex, CORE is a military complex although it still contains labs.
You take place in the skill of a soldier that try to defend the base, but who failed, just like the rest of the earth. get into CORE and solve this Black Mess and take control of the base along with the rebels. And when you again have the base in your hands, strike at the combine and let them never return to CORE and help freeing the earth.
Be prepared for a new update of Black Mess and try out my first demo.

Another one bites teh dust dead mod
I tried this beta, and I would like to give feedback.
-The loading of the 2nd map isn't good, the ennemies spawned directly and attack you :-\
Except this, the mod is good. But this beta looks more like a demo, because really short. Keep working on it ! (If it isn't dead...)

Hmmm... When I tried to start the mod, All I friggin heard was an error sound and it closed... Is it because it demanded ep 2 or something? Because I don't have that, or is it something else...
I am sure you need EP1, but I am not sure about EP2.
I self have EP2 but I will try if it works without EP2.

I do have episode 1. I'm kinda at a loss to what the problem is, everyone else seems to be able to play it... :(

black ops placed a warhead and they let it detonate, nobody stopped them because the base was completly evacuted because of the large allien force
Corporal Shephard deactivated it and the Gman reactivated it not even a minute afterwards.

The idea was cool and it was on of the ideas I had in teh beginning: re visit Black Mesa. But I can't make the textures and models needed for it.
But it sounds very interesting, but I should need a team.
