I hope this isnt going to be a player-based weapon, as it wasnt included in Half-Life 1, as far as I can recall. (Been playing the series since Summer 2001)
You can choose between having the SMG or M4. The M4 was from the HD-Pack, and there was a large request for the M4, so it was included as an optional extra

I hope your able to not hold every gun, So you have to keep dropping weapons for each other, swap weapons
I know it's not realistic to hold ALL the weapons, but wouldn't you like to?

These models look incredibly high poly still? are these not going to be used in game?
All media images, except for the loader model, are actual, ingame models. The m4 has been heavily, heavily optimized and is actually a fairly small polycount.

it is sort of plain, but that's good. in hl2, we have a small small touch of futurism on the weapons, so in this one, let's keep it 90's. im guessing that's when the cascade happened.
uses the same ammo as the pistol, like in the High Def pack... Imma be ******
actually the SMG was changed to the M-16 in the high def pack, and now they're just modifying it to the M-4. It's aight to me. but marines do use the M-16...

in the original hl, the smg was a mp5. in the hd pack it was updated to a m4 not an m16. all they r doin is makin a better m4

Looks sweet. ;D And, imo, equipping soldiers with M4's make a whole lot more sense than MP5's (Having it use the same ammo as the pistol, does not... But, meh, lets just, overlook that, okay ;P), so yeah, I liked what the enhancement pack did. Better graphics for characters and guns = Sweet.
wheres the newer version of m4 ? maybe like HK 416 with forward grip, ACOG scope 100 round drum magazine and lazor pointor
Guys, this WAS in the Half-Life. Just not in the PC version, it was in the PS2 version ;)
It wasn't just in the PS2 version. It was chiefly made for the HD Skin Pack that came with the expansion pack, Blue Shift.
The M4 is more realistic, so I'll use that I think.
