Nice model, but I don't really see the point of it. If its purpose is to generate a normal map, then it would have been far easier (and more time friendly) to hand-paint one. Seems more like a bit of showy to me, but still.
showy? yes. i don't think the hl1 walker was that detailed!
- normal maps are best generated from a 3D model, especially if they're using the per-pixel rendering FX in the latest SDK.

jacksonj04, I know that they're best done from a model, but still, would have been much more economical time-wise to just hand paint one.
Hand painting normal maps is a bitch, if I do say so myself, modeling in high poly and creating a normal map that way is much more efficient than hand painting, bump maps are no problem, but once you start going into normals, it's hard to get the colours right.

It should not be called "Source" conversion, this is something never seen before. Much better than the stupid HL2-look.
