Updated Improved Xen has been ported to Black Mesa 2012
Attention! This version of Improved Xen is compatible with free version of Black Mesa (by Black Mesa Team/Crowbar Collective), released in 2012 and using the Source Engine 2007 engine.
1. What you need to do before installing the mod:
If you have already downloaded Source SDK Base 2007 to Steam, then go straight to step 2.
If not, go to Steam and download Source SDK Base 2007 (Hover over the "Library" in the menu and select "Tools" in the drop-down list, in this list you will find the Source SDK Base 2007).
2. Installing Black Mesa:
You do not need to download the full version of Black Mesa in order to run Improved Xen. The lightweight version of Black Mesa mod is already included in this mod archive in order to make the installation of IXEN easier.
If you did not install Black Mesa, simply copy the "bms" folder from this archive to Steam\steamapps\sourcemods\
3. Installing Improved Xen:
Copy the folder "xen" from this archive in Steam\steamapps\sourcemods\
In this archive you will also see the folder "xen_russian", copy it the same way, if you want to use the Russian voice acting.
Restart Steam if it is currently active. After reboot, you will see Black Mesa: Improved Xen in your list of games.
Launch Black Mesa: Improved Xen
