Special thanks to PCGameCrazy for the screenshot!
Nice remake on the firing range. :)
Looking good, I remember playing through this part the most out of the entire course.
KILL THE RATZ!
The firing range in HL1 was hysterically unsafe, and you've managed to make it more so
...good job ;D
Looks kind of odd, that's my opinion.
Feel free to hate me for having an opinion.
Not at all, but perhaps if you could explain why you believe it looks odd, then people will take your opinion into consideration.
I'm not going to hate you for having an opinion, but the Hazard Course devs are going to need an explanation for why you believe it looks odd to you. If you explain why, they could try to address the issue.
Like the others said, if you can provide some specific points to be addressed, I can forward them to the rest of the team for consideration.
Dim the lighting a little bit
Good point. It does look a bit bright, doesn't it?
In my opinion it looks way too crammed and not like the props are cluttered but as in the room looks too small.
I think something about the wide angle of this particular shot makes it look that way. It doesn't really look that bad in-game.
Of course, that's my opinion. Take it with a grain of salt, since I'm the original designer of this room (though not the decorator).
Like killer monkey said, it looks too crammed and clutered, should be simplier, like in the original hl
I guess this is mostly caused by the usage of the room. In the original the room was designed to be a firing range. Now it looks like it's an old warehouse, refitted to be a firing range.
However, only a very very very talented forklift driver could get those huge containers into this small room with all those pillars. That's probably why it feels unrealistic.
Our prop modeler Lars actually had a system in mind for getting the large shipping containers in there, but we never put it in for some reason. Maybe we should get around to doing that. :P
The thing bugging me the most, is the overuse of that caution texture (yellow-black stripes) especially on that block in the middle of the platform.
Other than that, pretty damn awesome job there guys!
make decay remake for black mesa
No.
Looking good although I think more is possible this is obviously still a WIP shot as the lights aren't properly set just yet...
The Ceiling and left wall probably needs most of the work in my opinion.
Ideas: Eventually a glass - grenade, bulletproof glass window on top where people actually walk in a corridor on top or monitor your progress in some office.
Eventually some protected power couplings attached onto the left wall in front some tight fence or also bullet proof glass etc..
Ah, good ideas!
Will there actually be a proper booth to give Gordon/Barney the weapons and not just have live firearms sitting on a table without a warning sign?
Super late reply on my part, but there is an armory with a weapons locker immediately before this room.
the lighting on the ceiling looks odd/too bright.
I agree, where is the source of it?
