The soldiers are training twice. First time on the exercise, the second time in the fight. The main character will use all the skills, all his courage that would pass his fighting way that it is ordained. You have to play for the US soldier's engineering division. Together with all he had arrived at the base of Black Mesa. Fate has kept him from the horrors of the first day of your stay in the complex. The number of soldiers began to decrease steadily so on the second day of the command sends the hero to the rescue Armagh group in sector A.

Short form:
-----------------
+Uses custom models such as Big Momma - Male Black Ops etc.
+Some neat npc scripts in use but not enough.
+Makes use of the very well made original Hazard Course maps.
+G-man appearances.

-Badly optimized = lag
-Almost no npc scripts in use exception are the 1st map and last map.
-Several map bugs remain such as missing models, getting stuck in places.
-Endless waves of aliens teleporting in all around you throughout the mod = boring & unfair, predictable.
-Poor English translation of the few texts in game. But no big deal.
-Not enough auto saves. Sometimes they happened in the middle of a fight. Terrible.
-Not once a nice Vox message. You know like "Attention this facility is now under military control." :(

below a more precise review of the mod.

Hm I was long thinking how to rate this mod knowing that the majority of maps were created by completely different folks.
People that actually did invest a lot of time and put sweat into their creations. (Speaking of the hazard course mod team on which this mod here is based upon.)

So not knowing exactly where certain extensions were made I will focus mostly on the game play aspect and lesser on the mapping.

Mapping: Most maps were created by another team. Some extensions were made to it but they are minor and mostly not that good looking. In general I did like what the HC-AD team did though by turning a functional facility into a disaster like environment. I think the lights and props were well chosen for the most part.

Gameplay: Lets get to the game play where the main aspect of this mod thrives on or not?

I must say for about 40% of the mod I was entertained till it stopped. The further you progress the less fair things get. You end up finding yourself constantly surrounded by Aliens coming at you from all directions without having any chance of taking cover or avoiding them.

Clearly this is an overkill of monsters teleporting in and frankly is more reminiscent with hl1 spawn behaviors. That plus stupid pre placed monsters waiting for you behind almost every door eventually ruined the fun for me. At that point I turned on god mode out of frustration.

Other than endless combat don't expect any sort of riddles besides finding some buttons to open doors once in a while.

Scripting wise did this mod also not know to convince. Considering that less than a dozen npc enhancement scripts were even used at all. Still I must say the few scripts that are in use are all well executed. Be it the heroic end fight or the neat intro ride. If the mod would've had more scripts like that it would've benefited it greatly.

Unfortunately there are also several bugs remaining in this mod. Be it low fps in various maps which suggests bad optimization efforts or places where you can get in but can't get out due to invisible walls. In 1 map I spotted some models only displaying "error". In the map transition leading to the final map I even got stuck inside the door and was forced to use noclip.

Another weird aspect were some inconsistencies where certain Black Mesa personnel greeted you with "Hey Doc/Gordon" partially even opened doors for you. This could've been easily fixed by editing or altering the voice files or creating entirely new voice lines from scratch. But who knows might've even been left overs from the original hazard course scripting.

My conclusion regarding this mod:
It would have potential to be so much more if it would be optimized.

It would be even a lot better with clever monster placement and monster spawning instead of constantly overwhelming the player with Alien grunts & Alien Slaves en mass.

It would be even cooler to focus more on the struggles of the marines and to meet more of your buddies along the way. After all you play a soldier in this mod. Where are they? Having barely any scripts in use is a wasted opportunity and has a negative impact on the immersion of the mod.

Extremely buggy, as well as some pretty horrible modifications to the existing maps; areas are way too dark, or just lead to empty useless rooms and generally just bad aesthetical design choices. Most of the time is spend running away from the shitton of enemies that spawn in every room, or restarting the game because of the former.

Clearly not tested well. Full of bugs, newbie level design errors, general instability. Couldn't even complete it because I gave up half a dozen crashes in.

While there were some neat ideas here and there, most of the mod is just awful enemy placement that's absolutely brutal, random props strewn about the maps to look "destroyed," and lighting made to be just dark instead of atmospheric whatsoever. It's especially unfortunate that the enemy placement is awful because 95% of what this mod does is place enemies randomly throughout the Hazard Course. There's actually not a whole lot of effort put into new stuff, just enemies and darkness everywhere.

A lot of the "new" areas are just copy-pasted areas of HC placed behind every random door. The few that aren't are incredibly bland, not detailed or badly detailed. It's very easy to tell what parts of this mod are original and what's part of HC.

I'm biased in thinking HC was a good mod (I'm a lead developer on the team), but I honestly think our HC work comprises pretty much the only high points of this mod. Looking at screenshots one might think "Oh, cool," but if you take away our HC work so that they can't piggyback off of it, the whole thing is indistinguishable from most other sub-par Source mods, only it crashes a lot more.

Overall the mod is clearly the work of a team of newbies who made no effort to test or polish their work. This is not really worth a play, and had I not been a developer of BM:HC, I wouldn't have.

They didn't even build cubemaps, dammit.

Офигенный затягивающий маппинг, офигенные модели оружия и хорошая концепция, только логотип у мода очень дешёвый из-за чего создаётся неправильное впечатление, сам мод то качественный

Awesome addictive(enjoyable) mapping, awesome weapon models and a good concept, only the mod’s logo is very cheap due to which it creates the wrong impression, the mod itself is of high quality

I'm surprised! CIS was able to prove that they have the same talent for creating modifications! The mod is very atmospheric! See what did the newcomers , but hell, what would you like to expect from these people? It is normal for them , not always from the first attempt turns out! Only minutes to fashion a lot of bugs. I hope the developers will fix it and you will mod. I wish success to these guys. It is a pity that in the CIS a few people who do this kind of. Yes, there are plenty of solo card builders like in the game cs go , but here is another! It's the whole team that work on your creation. Generally guys next time I'm looking for something serious and Grand , prove to all that the CIS is also create a modification! Not bad. Everything is just gorgeous , I remember OP. Good luck to you guys.

The soldiers of the H. E. C. U. comes out a few mods which is quite strange because it can also show a good story. In the role of Sergeant Eric Peterson we need to help one of the groups of soldiers of the H. E. C. U..the Passage will take you a little time but you are given the chance to see what happened after the resonance cascade in the territory of the training set(Hazard Course). The mapping is excellent, there is even a feature of the original in the form of hidden batteries to suit.Music taken from BMS but plays it where necessary(For action moments and quiet moments).I came across a couple of bugs in the missions and does not display a shotgun in the hands of the player otherwise no problems detected.I hope the authors will fix bugs and add new pieces of gameplay(Command soldiers).
The bottom line:a Good short mod for Black Mesa Source.

Thank you that you made a mod about a soldier of H. E. C. U.

P.S I'm aware that it doesn't happen but the authors of the mod could you add in a few maps where we have to make a clean from the aliens or from the scientific personnel together with a partner and battle maps where we are also soldiers fighting aliens(As last map)?

This is a great mod! The atmosphere! Mapping is great and detailed, everything is placed where it should have been placed. But the most important: Opposing Force feel. It's like one easter egg from the original game made it to it's own standalone modification! Will be waiting for more great content like this!
