Prologue 1: Welcome to Black Mesa
The story begins on March 22, 2002, with the arrival of Dr. Gordon Freeman at the Black Mesa Research Facility, after accepting a job as a research associate.

Prologo 1: Bienvenido a Black Mesa
La historia comienza el 22 de marzo del año 2002, con la llegada del Dr. Gordon Freeman a las instalaciones de investigación Black Mesa, tras aceptar un puesto de trabajo como investigador asociado.

Recorriendo ciertas áreas (En las cuales pudo observar la rutina laboral de algunos trabajadores) llega a uno de los estacionamientos designados (EP-7), en el cual deja su vehículo, toma su equipaje y se dirige a uno de los ascensores que lo llevara a la recepción principal.
Una vez en la misma le dan la bienvenida, además de preguntarle el motivo de su visita y pedirle su documentación;
- Recepcionista: Bienvenido a la instalación de investigación Black Mesa, ¿en qué le podemos servir?
- Gordon Freeman: Buenos días, vengo a realizar un contrato laboral como investigador asociado.
- Recepcionista: Muy bien señor, ¿me proporcionaría su identificación y pase de ingreso?
Otorgándolos Gordon y corroborando la información, le indican que debe realizar un registro como visitante, además de pasar por una segunda revisión (Incluyendo su equipaje) por motivos de seguridad;
- Recepcionista: Bien, Dr. Freeman, su puesto de trabajo se encuentra en el sector C, le voy a pedir de favor que antes de ingresar a la instalación se registre y pase a una revisión por motivos de seguridad.
Tras finalizar con lo solicitado le piden esperar al Dr. Isaac Kleiner (Amigo suyo y mentor del M.I.T, quien le recomendó para trabajar en el sitio) a quien llaman por medio del sistema de megafonía, para que este le dirija al área administrativa ah realizar su registro laboral.
- Recepcionista: Muchas gracias Dr. Freeman, tome asiento en un momento el Dr. Kleiner llegara con usted y le llevara a su destino.
- Gordon Freeman: Le agradezco su atención.
- Sistema de megafonía: Dr. Isaac Kleiner, favor de presentarse en la recepción principal del área EP7.
Transcurridos unos minutos el Dr. Kleiner llega al lugar alegrándose de ver a Gordon, a quien da la bienvenida y acompaña dirigiéndose ambos a la estación principal del sistema de transporte para tomar un transporte que los lleve al área administrativa.

Durante el trayecto el Dr. Freeman quedo impresionado al observar las enormes instalaciones de investigación, mientras su amigo el Dr. Kleiner le sugiere escuchar el sistema de megafonía del tren para estar mas informado sobre las medidas de seguridad, recomendaciones y lugar por el cual van pasando.
- Issac Kleiner: Te recomiendo escuchar el sistema de megafonía, para darte una ligera idea de donde estas parado Gordon.
- Sistema de megafonía del tren: Buenos días, bienvenidos al sistema de transporte de Black Mesa.
Este tren automático se ofrece como servicio de cortesía y seguridad a los empleados de los laboratorios Black Mesa.

Abriendo una compuerta de acceso y después de pasar por una verificación en una sala, les permiten el Ingreso a ambos al área administrativa (Sector D).
- Issac Kleiner: Sígueme Gordon.
Atravesando un enorme complejo de oficinas hasta llegar a la oficina de registro de personal, lugar en el cual, tras saludarse y darle la bienvenida a Gordon, le solicitan a este último su documentación y pase de ingreso a las instalaciones para comenzar con su registro laboral.
- Issac Kleiner: Bien, es aquí Gordon.
- Oficinista: Buenos días Dr. Kleiner.
- Issac Kleiner: Buenos días John, permíteme presentarte a mi mejor alumno del MIT; Gordon Freeman.

- Oficinista John: ¿Dr Freeman?, su registro ha terminado.
Le proporciono su identificación laboral y numero de habitación.
Siendo la #309 en el complejo de habitaciones del nivel 3.
Para llegar diríjase a la estación del tranvía mas cercana y espere un transporte que le lleve al nivel 3.
Por último, Doctor, en cuanto se haya instalado diríjase inmediatamente al centro de entrenamiento en el Sector A para comenzar con su adiestramiento en el uso del traje de protección Mark Iv.

Poniéndose en marcha ambos científicos y ahora colegas de trabajo se dirigen a la estación mas cercana del sistema de transporte, lugar en el cual esperan unos minutos a que llegue un transporte.
- Eli Vance: Bueno abra que esperas un poco.
- Gordon Freeman: Así parece doctor.
Momentos después llegando un tren, mismo que abordan comenzando su viaje al complejo de habitaciones del Nivel 3.
Durante su trayecto la charla entre ambos continuaba mientras el sistema de megafonía nuevamente daba medidas de seguridad, recomendaciones y lugar por el cual iban pasando.
- Eli Vance: ¿Supongo que ya habrás escuchado algunas cosas del sistema de megafonía verdad?
- Gordon Freeman: Así es doctor.
- Eli Vance: Pues prepárate que es casi lo mismo todos los días así que no te sorprendas ¿vale?
- Gordon Freeman: Lo tomare en cuenta, gracias por el consejo.
- Sistema de megafonía del tren: Buenos días, bienvenidos al sistema de transporte de Black Mesa…
Una vez llegando a su destino ambos científicos descienden del tren para después identificarse en el módulo de vigilancia, permitiéndoles el ingreso y a su vez dándole la bienvenida al lugar en el cual va a residir.
- Eli Vance: Vale ya llegamos Gordon.
- Guardia de seguridad: Bienvenidos Dr. Eli y Dr. Freeman, enseguida les dejare pasar.
- Eli Vance: Bienvenido al complejo de habitaciones Gordon, sígueme.
Durante el camino a su habitación Gordon observa además de las habitaciones, diferentes áreas como bibliotecas, zonas de entretenimiento, lavanderías, cafeterías, una alberca, tiendas de productos básicos entre otros.
Parando brevemente en el camino el Dr. Vance les presenta a Gordon, a su esposa “Asían Vance” y a su hija de 4 años “Alyx Vance” (Quien ya esperaba en la entrada de su dormitorio la llegada de su esposo sosteniendo en brazos a su pequeña hija)
- Eli Vance: Hola cariño
- Asian Vance: Hola cielo
- Eli Vance: Gordon, quiero presentarte a mi esposa Asian y a mi pequeña hija Alyx
Asian quiero presentarte al Dr. Freeman.
- Gordon Freeman: Es un placer señora.
- Asian Vance: Muchas gracias Dr. Freeman, es un gusto conocerlo.
- Eli Vance: Vale querida en seguida regreso
- Asian Vance: Aquí te esperamos cariño.
Reanudando el recorrido finalmente llegan a la habitación designada, despidiéndose el Dr. Vance de Gordon y regresando con su familia, no sin antes agradecerle Gordon por haberle acompañado.
- Eli Vance: Bien Gordon aquí estamos, 309.
