Initially developed and released by Gearbox Software in 2001, second Half-Life add-on, Half-Life: Blue Shift is a return to the Black Mesa Research Facility and another look at the Incident's consequences from the eyes of Gordon Freeman's best friend - Barney Calhoun.
In 2012, Crowbar Collective has delighted Half-Life fans with release of the magnificent Half-Life remake, but there are still no released remakes for add-ons. This is when we are coming in - HECU Collective are developing the Black Mesa: Blue Shift - a free remake with use of Black Mesa resources and style. We will try to stay as close to the original Blue Shift and Black Mesa as possible. Our mod will be releasing partially, chapter by chapter, so those who are not patient for the full release will finally have something to play!

For those who missed it, in our previous post, we shared two new screenshots featuring thrilling new locations. And for those who have already enjoyed them to the fullest, let's move forward.
For the first time in a while, we've decided to not just showcase screenshots, but treat you some gameplay footage, revealing the richness and unique visual style of the Blue Shift's fifth chapter remake!
As you can tell from the title, our team participated in an interview with LambdaGeneration, where we delved into many technical aspects of development, shared exclusive development screenshots, answered your questions, and unveiled a secret about one of the new monsters you'll encounter in our version of Focal Point!
We posted a new .gif showcasing one of the chapter's caves on the Patreon page too, go take a look!
There's still a lot more stuff to show off, but we're saving it for future. Keep an eye on the news!

I have a question for you HECU Collective: Do you think you can make a Opposing Force remake in the black mesa engine as well since operation black mesa is not out yet?
It is too early to ask that question.
That will be seen when the remake of Azure Sheep and Blue Shift are finished.
Until then, we can only wait and see how the development of the main projects goes.
Thanks LeoJFC I will watch both of these projects to see when they get finished.
If this only applies to maps, then the answer is yes. But the main problem for us is the lack of time. We have work, study, that's why it takes about a month to create one good location.
Yes It does apply to the maps. And I understand that you have a lot of work and that is perfectly fine with me. I was just wondering if you were doing a opposing force remake in the black mesa engine as well since operation black mesa and guard duty weren't out yet.
Man, is there a console command to stop the tram script temporarily? I'd love to spend a few extra minutes looking at the scenery!
You can use host_timescale 0.3 to make everything slower
Can I nitpick a bit? Personaly I think the helipad is still not far away enough from the terrace...just think about all those ruined breakfasts and lunches because of the sand and dust in the burger or coke...
Overall, you've made a wonderfull job with maps and design...keep it up!
Поездка на поезде, время ролика Twitcherus(ниже в ленте) 7:00 - это не те ли самые помещения из Azure Sheep Part 1 Extended?
Yes, This location was used in the Azur Sheep mod
