BLACK I.C.E. is an extensive mod of HOI3 under development by Panzeroo and many other members of the Hearts Of Iron 3 forum.
Installing BlackICE may seem daunting at first, but provided you follow the directions here, you should have a relatively easy time with it. Step 1: After you have downloaded BlackICE, copy the installer to the same directory that as the hoi3game.exe and hoi3_tfh.exe files in it. Generally speaking, this will be somewhere like: • d:\games\Hearts of Iron 3 • c:\games\steam\steamapps\common\Hearts of Iron 3 Step 2: Install Podcat's LAA (Large Address Aware) version of the HOI3 .exe file with BlackICE. This will solve a great many issues with the game crashing as it will take advantage of the larger amounts of memory that newer computers can use. Podcat's LAA .exe file can be found in the following Tech Support thread on the PI forum •Overwrite the original hoi3_tfh.exe file with it. Step 3: Run the installer. May I ask? I have a problem. When defeating Finland in Winter War as the Soviet Union, I select the option "We´ll settle what we asked for". but I dont get any territorial gains from Finland. Karelia remains in finnish hands.
Any ideas what could be wrong?

open the FinnishWinterWar.txt file in blackICE events folder.

you need to register the TFH expansion on the paradox forum. The LAA exe is a modified version of the TFH exe which paradox put out. So they still own that exe and presumably want to know that you have bought TFH before handing over the exe for it.

It just says "file" and I cannot open it!

In my opinion, we should nerf CAG stats a little bit. They destroy all my INT, FGT which send to counter them (all equal in tech or just one level tech difference).
In real life, land-based aircraft always stronger than CAG if not too obsolete, especially in WW2.

the main problem with that is that if the CV loses its CAGs the entire ship is also going to be lost. If the CV goes the rest of the fleet is also likely to go. This is much easier to manage for a player who can rotate in new CAGs or keep his CV fleet out of range of interceptor swarms. however it leaves the AI very vulnerable to player controlled land based air units. So to balance out this the CAGs are very expensive and can withstand greater numbers of interceptors. Its a classic case of gameplay vs historical real life - gameplay comes first.
I have 2 bugs:
1. Saving manually crashes the game
2. I am unable to land troops by the "invasion" option (as Greece), even on my own unoccupied territory. The invasion starts and the battle works ok, but the troops wont move on to land.

the save game issue is related to your computer logs/ possibly map cache. Its different for each computer so some people ( such as myself) have never had a save game crash. Other people get them all the time. It can help to delete the black ice logs before you start each game. You cannot do sea invasions with ocean liners/ passenger ships. You either use the auxiliary vessels ( barges etc) which you gain an OOB of from event when war starts) or research and build landingcraft and assault ships. Ocean liners are for transporting troops between ports. Keep them out of the invasion fleets.

I guess the actual bug was that they attacked and fought the battle at all
game mechanics will still allow the invasion to take place - we can't prevent that, however the invasion with ocean liners landing troops will impose a huge penalty on the attacking troops so they will be unable to actually land. In that sense its not a bug as its intended to stop the player using ocean liners ( which have a large troop transport ability) to launch huge invasions. It should take a long time and a lot of research to be able to easily launch invasions corps or larger. You can still do them from the start with auxiliary vessels, but they will be much harder to organise and risky.

I have other question. Do you give AI any secret tech to improve their mission efficiency? Because when I check battle (int vs int.), AI mission eff. always higher than mine, of course same tech.
the AI doesn't get any extra mission efficiency techs or bonuses for its air units. If the air units have better mission eff then you it might be due to radar effecting the enemy and/or being close to airbases.

Ah, there is a small bug that I want to report. The early three pocket battleships of Germany, when you group them, they stuck there and you can't split it again. In my game, all three stuck each other and I can't do anything. I think problem is the Deutschland ship.

my anti virus reported keylogger
1. run the game with mod enabled
2. alt-tab to desktop
3. type something on web browser
when i run the game without the mod, no keylogger reported.
Is that a bug?

I would definitely run a malware/ virus check on your computer.
Just an update on this, when the game is running, i scaned my computer with malware bytes, found nothing. The problem seems to be related to the BI Quick Launch.exe. When i run the HOI III launcher and select the black ice mod, I can run the game with no keylogger detected.
Scaning my computer with avira at the moment.
the BI quick launch exe is a small file, this can often trigger AV programs due to the small size of the exe. However no one else has reported any malware and the file is hosted on ModDB which has its own inhouse AV scan of the files which are uploaded to the site. Chances are something on your system has attached itself to the exe.
I can't find anything after numerous scanning with different tools, it seems to only happen when i run the game with quick launch. even scanning the quick launch exe itself with the same AV that reports keylogger in runtime yields no positive result. Probably a false positive. Thanks for the help! I will just run the game with the original launcher then click on load black ice mod from now on then.
yeah there have been a few false positive reported about the quick launcher due I think to its being a small exe.

There is a land block here for game balance reasons. It should unlock sometime around 1942+ for Japan if they gain that region.
Crash at 7.53 Black Ice loading screen due to the lack of Podcast's Large Address Aware exe. Message says "Loading files failed for unknown reason". Why are you mentioning the exe file if you have blocked in all forums? It appears it has been blocked for a purpose, so Zappara must remove its mention here. "Install Podcat's LAA (Large Address Aware) version of the HOI3 .exe file with BlackICE". Or give a new download link.
Paradox own the podcat TFH exe ( one of their devs modified it) so we can't hand over a link to the TFH expansion exe for obvious copyright reasons. Basically you have to buy TFH and register it on the paradox forum to receive the modified TFH expansion exe. If you own a legitimate copy of TFH expansion you will be able to register and access the link. I guess its paradox's way of stopping game piracy.
When will the next version be released?
working on BICE 8 now. It has some very big changes in it, which requires a lot of gameplay balance work. These changes include a lot of new buildings, changes to the way artillery works, and division transport units. The plan is to release an alpha (manual install) version for playtesting on the paradox forum in a few weeks. Then when we are happier with play balance and bug fixes, build an installer version and release it elsewhere. BICE 8 may well be the final version before HOI IV
seriously...? Is that mean the BICE is complete & no-more to modify....? cuz HOI IV will take few months, most probably atleast by 2016 1ts or 2nd quarter........!
& BTW panzeroo; could u send us change-log of BICE 8 ; so that we can know what to expect........!
I would day BICE 8 will receive a lot of updates, so it won't be the last release. Maybe just the final "full" release before HOI IV
