As usual with a new version, manually delete the old BICE folder in TFH/mods and the launcher ! Reinstall the new version by placing in the main directory. 7.23 *might* be save game compatible with 7.03, however its likely many of the bugs will remain in the save file and result in issues.

Panzeroo, you have made my holidays bro, seriously, the greatest strategy game of all time. Where can i donate ? and are you committed to modding hoi4 ? I dont know if you can top this though.. maybe unit variation of every kind, but other than that, it is the complete package. If every spg afv and main battle tank was represented, that's about it...
I too would like to donate to the team. And Panzeroo has said that his team is committed to modding Hoi4 and beyond. Never seen such dedicated modders who work to dramatically enhance our gaming experience!

I didn't use podcast TFH earlier when it crashed, then I used the podcast and it worked fine.
Sorry to bother, I started playing as Germany and was all fine but then I started noticing a ton of events missing pictures and descriptions? I probably did something wrong, help would be appreaciated!

soon as we are certain the save game CTD issue is 100% gone for people. It wasn't showing up in our testing, but only way to be certain is if lots of people are playing the mod.
love the mod but one element of the game is very frustrating still to me - diplomacy. want to make it easier to get debt granted for buying production licenses, and want to be able to buy rockets!
cant find the script to edit what items i can buy so to add rockets. also the allow debt txt is confusing, is there something i should remove to make it happen more often for faction members?
it might be in the LUA which is complicated to understand (and explain) if you don't already know how it works.
Is there a way to get Italy to stay a part of the Comintern? As Soviet Union I conquered Italy (twice actually due to some bug involving the conquer of Germany and Japan being the leader of Axis I'm guessing) and then half of it become socialist Italy while the lower half stays occupied territory. Britain somehow gets Sardinia and most of Sicily even though they never had troops in either of them. When I puppet the southern half the two parts of Italy annex each other (can't remember which does the annexing) but then the whole of Italy becomes a member of the allies. It is kind of annoying if you are planning on going after the Allies when they get territory your troops fought for.
might have to change it in the save game. BICE isn't designed for ahistorical gameplay. It can be done of course, but weird things will happen.

So generally I enjoy a-historical games, but when my country is breaking down due to revolts, my question is why did Hitler die in April 1936?

if Hitler is dead, a leaderloss event has fired. This triggers whenever the game can no longer find the Hitler leader unit. Either you removed it or renamed it.
The mod was working great from 1936 - 1938. Now im getting an issue where any autosave or manual save will crash to desktop - on checking the saved games its always an empty file. I have tried a previous save points but the same thing is happening when i try to the save the game.
What we know - The save game CTD issue is occurring from some people and not others.
Further, some people find I occurs only on auto saves, other people have manual save isses. Other people have issues with both auto and manual.
At this stage we don't know what is causing this issue an why different people are affected differently.
A quick list of possible solutions, some of which work for different people.
~ Launch the mod via the normal game launcher.
~ Choose to run the mod with compatibility mode for XP SP3
~ Turn off any background programs such as game booster programs.
~ stick to one save game type - either monthly auto saves or manual saves
~ Lower game speed, at least for the first few months
~ Close down game and restart to load a save
We continue to work on solving the save game issue.

its not a unit as such, rather is a "building". You can try changing the values in buildings.txt in the BlackICE common folder. There is also a setting in defines LUA.

So far no crashes with 7.32 other than the one I seem to get the first time I run BI everytime I install a new version. I chock that up to my older system. I've done a few tests plays at full speed and no problems. In case others hadn't thought of it I have gotten the techs and such to fit pretty well on my screen by using a similar aspect ratio since my card and/or monitor can't seem to handle the specified resolution. Some of the longer tech completed pop ups don't fit in the screen, and I can't always see what requirements I'm missing to research a tech, but I can access all techs in their folders. Other than the rather minor inconvenience of having to micromanage amphibious assaults I very much like this version. Thank you very much.

How can we edit the German flag file? I've tried to put the Swastika and other flags, but it still doesn't work. I know it's a TGA file, but even when I substitute it it doesn't work. How can I solve this? Thanks!

Why does there a fort modifier when attacking Burma/Tibet/India as Japan even when there aren't any forts? Or am I missing something?
check the province info you are attacking. It probably has monsoon effects ( in Burma/parts of India) and snow in Tibet. These make attacking very difficult. The monsoon is seasonal and basically pointless trying to attack in the middle of the monsoon. Tibet is tough as well due to the mountains and the snow.
I also have a fort modifier issue. In october 1941 the attacker ALWAYS get a -200 for modifier (usually -173,-193 or -203 to be exact). This is regardless of terrain or who is attacking(soviet or GER).
I play as germany and have reached moscow but not yet taken odessa in the south. I tried playing for 50 days further but the modifier is still there making it virtually impossible to lose or gain ground.
This has broken my save, is this a known issue perhaps?

it is due to either deep mud or snow in the province. Check the province info and you will see a what level the mud or snow is. Its much harder to attack in mud or deep snow.
Maybe I was unclear, this happens where there is no mud or snow, this happens even on the border to Romania in early october.
Switched to 7.4 now, hopefully I will one day get past 1941 whithout a broken save.
Early October should have heavy mud occur in the province. If there are no forts or pillboxes in the province the only other game mechanic which can give the fort modifier in the mod is the mud or snow ( or monsoon in the tropics). 7.4 has had close to 3000 downloads via media fire and here on MdDB. There are still a handful of people with the save game problem. So its rare but unfortunate that some people still get the crashes. I have personally tested some saves that people have sent me which crash for them, and are completely fine for me. So it seems related to your game settings/ and computer system. This makes it very hard to fix. Unless the dev team get the crash we can't fix it. We are not getting any crashes anymore...

Just stoped playing the save because I thought the game mechancanics had glitched up somewhere with the fort modifier.
I'm pretty sure there was 0% mud and snow in some of the provinces with the modifier. Can't check now though since I deleted and installed 7.4, geat mod nonetheless!
I am attacking the UK, but on their soil they seem to enjoy an enormous defensive bonus. I have panzers attacking infantry on the summery plains of Weymouth (but heavy ground attacks too) and they have a 993% defence bonus. Elsewhere in the UK, they have bonuses around 600%. I have also noticed random air wings (even led by chinless 2 skill generals) might have 400% attack and defend and will obliterate my fighters. It seems confined to the British mainland - I have some tommies bottled up in Bordeaux, and they're tough but within reason. Any idea where this bonus is coming from? I took the lowlands and france early on, by feb 1940, if that matters. Brilliant mod, by the way - utterly revitalised this game.
Attacking another nation on their home soil results in high territorial pride. This is a whay to help the AI defend itself better since it is so hopeless otherwise. The UK and the soviets ( and the german AI if you play as an allied nation or soviets) all get a TP bonus on their home land. It means you need a very large force to take the UK now. The bonus will get a little lower after a year or so. The RAF in the UK benefits from the Radar chain. You need a huge majority of fighters to wear them down.
