As usual with a new version, manually delete the old BICE folder in TFH/mods and the launcher ! Reinstall the new version by placing in the main directory. 7.23 *might* be save game compatible with 7.03, however its likely many of the bugs will remain in the save file and result in issues.

Any help on how to prevent freezes? I'm playing as Germany and it's 1941 and the game won't stop freezing at a specific date (August 19th at 22 hours). It always seems to happen at that hour. I downloaded 6.26 and got rid of this version's mod but it seems to still plague my game, I go back to previous saves and it usually gets past the constant freeze dates but eventually reaches a point where it can continue no more. Computer is definitely capable, have copy and pasted the new tfh, installed the hotfix and nothing improves. How can I play it for four years flawlessly and not have any issues until late 1940 and 1941? Are the save files now corrupted, I autosave every week?
have you tried clearing out the save game folder ? If you are saving every week there might be a large amount of saves which can have an impact.
It only uses three files to autosave, if it autosaves a fourth time it just overwrites your first autosave. In total though I have about 12 save files, the other 9 are just independent saves but I'll try to delete some.

I reinstalled Microsoft visual but no luck, the game runs smoothly if I start a new campaign but when I jump to Barbarossa it has issues. I tried my very last save and it worked but I'm worried it will end up just freezing and it's annoying to have to do the first 3 months of Barbarossa over and over again. Anyways, if you have another solution I'd really like to hear it but maybe it's just my desktop. Thanks again
not really sure. The problem is I can't replicate save game errors on my rig. people send me their save games and I can reload them, save them etc. without any issue. So its difficult to know how to fix something or what the problem is when its not occurring for me :(

possibly. There is certainly an issue with 32bit systems as opposed to 64bit systems, where the LAA exe( podcat's TFH exe) won't work without some extra adjustments.
I got it to work or at least for the time being. What I did was I played one of the scenarios and turned the autosave feature on and after it saved once i went to my original game, recalled the zillions of subs i had (feel like it strained the system given the amount of pop-ups), turned adv water and tree off and it worked fine the two different times i tried. Thanks for your support, I still feel like the save files were corrupted in some way.

Is their any way too make it easier too steal technology, or is this something you could think about putting in the mod? Especially given I cant choose what type of tech id like, it seems a waste of leadership.
Game mechanics determine this to a large extent. The more technologically advanced you are the harder it is to get lucky and steal a tech. Minor nations with low techs will find it much easier to steal since there are more nations with more advanced techs on offer.
If I declare war on an allied nation while playing as nationalist china is there a peace option with japan? I dont know how to edit saved games if this is the only way to do it. Not sure if it is possible to join the axis either before japan attacks.

you need podcat's TFH exe or the mod won't work. To get podcat's TFH exe you need to register your copy of the TFH expansion on paradox's HOI3 forum. Podcat's TFH exe allows the game engine to access more then 2 GB of computer memory. Its basically an altered version of the TFH exe which means paradox own it. To supply the exe here would breech copyright.

just to confirm you are using podcat's TFH exe ? ! Save game errors are a reported issue in 7.23 for some people. Not for everyone though. We are hopeful that 7.3 version due in a few days has fixed save game problems. Its difficult as it is an issue for some people and not others !Its also something that HOI3 itself tends to suffer from to a degree.
Using podcast's and have tried on three different computers with same results. Also clean installed.
all I can say is wait for 7.3. Though the problem remains that the savegame issue seems to occur only for some people and not others.

I have a little problem with saves. I was playing Turkey yesterday. I conquered Bulgary and Romania, everything was okay, no crashes etc. But today I was trying to continue my campaign and 3 of my 4 last saves are broken. I mean, I can load it, but there is no army, no navy, no resources, no officers, no ministers and this happened to almost all countries, except Germany, GB and some more. I can normally play, but there is nothing in the world to live for :P
Is there any way to fix it or avoid it in future? I checked that saves, but I didnt saw any specific diffrences with my fourth normal save.
Good news is we have narrowed down the save game issue problems and this should be fixed for the upcoming 7.3 version.

what OS do you have ? How much ram, screen resolution ? Do you have 32 bit or 64 bit system ?
i have windows 7 32-bit, 2GB ram, and game running with 1600x900 screen resolution.
Unfortunately 2Gb is not going to help you. Podcat's TFH exe is needed because it allows the game to use more then 2GB of memory. If you only have 2GB it is useless :(

This is definitely the best mod for Hearts of Iron. But I´m having some issues with Germany attacking the SU. In some regions in the SU I have about -100% combat effiency due to fort modifiers although there is no fort built. Is this a bug?
that is the effect from deep snow or heavy mud. Certain times of the year these effects will be in place. The intensity varies depending on the time of the year and the region. It will be very hard to attack in these situations.
When starting a custom game as Germany I notice a lot of missing tech? Air doctrines are all 1918, no airplane prototypes. Industry 1918. and light armour. Maybe more stuff, I am not sure.

Hello, First of all i would like to say that you guys have added soooo much more enjoyment to my HOI experience with your mod so thank you! I was wondering if anyone can help me with a little issue i am having regarding building divisions from the production panel. When i go to create a custom division make up using the templates on the right of the screen my game crashes everytime, whether i am editing a pre-built template or creating a new one from the blank template options. Does anybody know why? It has not happend in any previous BI versions. I wouldn't normally mind however HOI is really a Land based military game so playing with default unit make-up can become boring and useless the later you progress. Thank you in advance.

That is the wierd thing, i have uninstalled HOI 3 and deleted all files relating to it and black ice on my comp. I then reinstalled HOI through steam and then reinstalled BI & podcats exe file, nothing else, and i still don't get the jytu checksum. I have tried this several times now.
UPDATE: Seems there was a file that was left behind, that solves the checksum problem. I think i have also found the issue surrounding the game crashing when i try to build units. Turns out it does not seem to like it when i unlock unit technologies before they are meant to be unlocked.

I found a bag. Sometimes my German fleet lost CAG, which disappears.
from combat ? When CAGs are destroyed they are removed from the map. They require a fair bit of micromanagement and a some back up CAG units to rotate over to the CV.
