As usual with a new version, manually delete the old BICE folder in TFH/mods and the launcher ! Reinstall the new version by placing in the main directory. 7.23 *might* be save game compatible with 7.03, however its likely many of the bugs will remain in the save file and result in issues.

Is there a low res option for this release yet? If not what is the newest release with a low res option? Didn't realize till after I had replaced the files that the low res version I had downloaded was for a different version.
there is nobody working on low res GUI for the mod. Not even sure if its possible to do this anymore due to the amount of techs. The 4.3 version has a low res available for it I recall correctly.
Why did uk declared war on me in 1938 just as i annexed sudeteland from czechoslovakia? bug?
There is a 1% chance the Allies won't accept the annexation.
i did not save that game i quit as soon i saw that they declared war on me. so if i load my game where i last save in 1937 that wont happen again? becouse i really wanna play game historically as it were.
It rarely happens so I think you just got unlucky.

and what do i need to do to get decision first viena award and the treaty of munich in what month does it fire? this time uk declared war on me in october........
perhaps you are doing something which raises the threat level ? It does not sound like an event is doing this if its so often for you. Threat can be raised simply by building a lot of units. Dissent 2 or above and prevent the Munich agreement from triggring. the month doesn matter if all the conditions are met ( such as not being at war with the UK, having annexed Austria)

I have played with this update flawlessly til the year 1940 and all of the sudden was experiencing frequent crashes. It now has come to the point where upon starting it immediately crashes at map logic. I tried deleting everything in my map cache folder (quad texts and the other 3,400 things) but the problem still persists. I copied the entire hoi3 game from steam apps and installed black ice in the copied one and never had a problem but all of a sudden this happens. I would appreciate it if you can help me with how to fix this map cache issue (assuming it's that); whenever I try it using aids online it still doesn't seem to work.

Yes, I just re-downloaded it and placed it in my copied hoi3 folder where black ice is installed. Tried both the mod and vanilla and still no further than map logic.
If it click on the hoi3 tfh in the launcher folder i get "missing lau51" but if i do it from steam it says file exception.
I am also experiencing increasingly frequent crashes, so far only during gameplay though.. this last crash happened after less than one game-day after loading, the one before gave me 3 days.. time before it crashed during a save and lost a week of gameplay.. and yes I use podcats exe. No problems during game loading so far.
Previous post was mine now I have registered.. anyway just wanted to add that this started sometime in 1940 too.. and got progressively more frequent.

Odd. There are a few reports from some people with save game issues - which is mainly a HOI3 issue anyway. But for people using podcat's TFH exe there are very few crashes. I usually leave the game running overnight to test balance and its still running in the morning.
Ok.. my last game now crashes as soon as I unpause.. every time. I'll reinstall and start over I guess. Will let you know if it happens again. Tks.
I ended up deleting all traces of the game except my save game files and it works now or at least better, however I get these random fort modifiers (like 106%) as Germany on Soviet territory at random times when it gets slow (which leads me to ask are the deep snow and mud modifiers considered terrain or fort?). This also happened before when the mod became unplayable.
the mud and snow are not really random as they tend to tie in with specific times of the year. They use the fort mechanic so will basically add a bonus to the defender.
Wow, didn't think they would have that big of an impact. I would be winning multiple battles over 80% and then it goes below 20% almost instantly. Thanks
depends on the level of the mud/ snow of course. Its something like 18% penalty per level, with 10 levels. The levels vary according to the time of year. They also stack with other modifiers.
Maybe there is a bug, but not your problem. I found the global modifier: "COUNTER_ESPIONAGE" (in "static_modifiers.txt") has some logical error. Each time, when I set it as negative number, such as COUNTER_ESPI it works very well, showing on "internal spies caught" in "Intelligence" tab. In another words, internal counterespionage is effective and kick out spies from my country. And leave no red "exclamation point" before the number of spies caught.
However, when I change modifier: "COUNTER_ESPIONAGE" as a positive number, which will appear as a Green effect buff in the game, I always get techs stolen and appear red "exclamation point" before the number of spies caught.
I am not sure if it is a design error of the basic HOI3, please let me know your comment so that I am able to correct the in-game effect with a high negative/positive modifier.

you need to build them at the province level. Along with other things such as AA/ radar, forts. You can easily do multiple provinces at once by holding down shift key and left clicking on the chosen provinces. select the level/s of building/s and this will be built in all those selected provinces.
How can I get back I gave decisions
There isn't really a way to refire a decision without going back to a previous save game. However many decisions trigger events which are easy to refire via the console command. So it depends on what the decision is.
I love your mod and it became the only way for me to play HoI3.
But I've not updated in a while. Are the additional political units in the Soviet OOB removed yet?
I remember having 3 Stalins and 4 STAVKAS. They spawned alongside the specialised HQs. Air or naval I think.
sounds like you have a faulty install. This has never been a reported bug issue. Make sure you manually delete the previous Black ICE folder in TFH/mods and the previous Blackice launcher in the main directory. Reinstall. You should have checksum JYTU

When I play as Italy, I get the event in 1937 to rebuild the Caio Duilio and Andrea Doria and it says they will cost 2 IC for 2 years, and that is true until something in my production queue finishes, then they costs 11-ish IC for 3-3½ years like I'm building brand new BB's, with Italy's tight budget I can't afford that. Know what the problem is or any solutions?
This is due to the IC cost being adjusted by the game engine based on the Italian practicals for capital ships.

You have hard coded HeartsIII as part of any path in the install rather then where you locate it so someone using for example d:\HOI3 as their root directory will have to adjust.

i just conquered poland and i decided to honor the molotov ribbentop pact. so one part of poland goes to me the other to soviets. what will happen if i invade latvia, estonia, lithuania after that? will the soviets declare war on me if i conquer them all before they do?
the soviets have cores on those lands so if you conquer them the soviets will DOW you.
I've annexed Lithuania in the previous version without a DOW...
really? they will declare war on me? can i avoid it somehow? at least until 1941 barbarossa?
If you take any of the Baltic nations you can expect the soviets to DOW you otherwise they will be much more vulnerable for when you do Barbarosssa.
No longer able to multitask all the time hoi with other programs in the new release. im also having a problem with my autosaves not working. perhaps i should have cleared out my saved game folder?

Any help on how to prevent freezes? I'm playing as Germany and it's 1941 and the game won't stop freezing at a specific date (August 19th at 22 hours). It always seems to happen at that hour. I downloaded 6.26 and got rid of this version's mod but it seems to still plague my game, I go back to previous saves and it usually gets past the constant freeze dates but eventually reaches a point where it can continue no more. Computer is definitely capable, have copy and pasted the new tfh, installed the hotfix and nothing improves. How can I play it for four years flawlessly and not have any issues until late 1940 and 1941? Are the save files now corrupted, I autosave every week?
have you tried clearing out the save game folder ? If you are saving every week there might be a large amount of saves which can have an impact.
It only uses three files to autosave, if it autosaves a fourth time it just overwrites your first autosave. In total though I have about 12 save files, the other 9 are just independent saves but I'll try to delete some.
