I'm turning D2R SP experience into what I would like to play with. I played a lot of Enjoy-SP with Plugy in Diablo 2 and my goal is to make something similar in the end. Hope you enjoy it too :)
Includes readme.txt and new v1.2 without mercenary equipment mod Expanded Mod's Mercenary Equipment mod broke basically all equippable items I am very sorry for any issues it has caused/will cause so far in with the update!!

You need to empty out C:\Users\[your_name_in_pc]\Saved Games\Diablo II Resurrected\mods\Karla, new update works then if it doesn't before and then after that import/create_new stuff there. You can simply copy paste your saves anywhere in computer as backup.
The update will render all original/vanilla/imported characters playable again but i'm afraid most Better SP (at least from original v1.2, i have to test, if 1.0, 1.1 ones do) saves do not work.
Workaround to get them to work would be to destroy ALL EQUIPPABLE ITEMS from character/stash/merc/cube, (you can try simply unequipping the not-vanilla Mercenary equipslot items, in best case scenario save will work in update then) or if you want to save as many items as possible, then you can test, what items do not fail to load.
Some characters may be totally fine though, currently I have no info about it. Protip to also future modders: do NOT change itemtypes without extensive testing.
Bonesy (author of Expanded mod) has already released also Extended mod's version without Mercenary equipment mod.
I will be testing (after i quickly release the new update without Mercenary equipment mod) how to make v1.2 characters to work there again, if possible at all.
Edit: is a possibility that all weapons/body_armors/helms could be functional when importing from 1.2 to 1.2-no-merc (as those are vanilla merc slots), will test further.
KEEP A COPY OF v1.2 IN YOUR SOME OTHER FILES TO COPY/PASTE/OVERWRITE THE NEXT UPDATE (AND BACK AND FORTH) IF YOU WANT TO TEST, WHAT WOULD WORK THERE
ALL IMPORTED CHARACTERS FROM VANILLA D2/D2R SHOULD BE WORKING 100%

Controllers are not currently supported with expanded inventory/stash.

How to install:
Open your file manager and navigate to your Diablo II Resurrected installation directory, usually located in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Diablo II Resurrected"
Create a new folder named "mods" in the Diablo II Resurrected installation directory
Create "Karla" folder into the new "mods" folder and place Karla.mpq there
It should look like this:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Diablo II Resurrected\mods\Karla\Karla.mpq"
Create a new shortcut for D2R.exe
Right click on the new shortcut, right-click and select properties of the made shortcut, and add Target parameters -mod Karla
Example:
Target: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Diablo II Resurrected\D2R.exe" -mod Karla
Start in: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Diablo II Resurrected"
Start Diablo II Resurrected using the new shortcut and enjoy :)
Features so far:
Way larger inventory, cube, stash
Increased run/walk speed
Lowered stamina drain
Item levels are visible
Skill max levels are increased from 20 to 99
Removed experience gain penalty from higher levels
Hell Countess can now drop all runes
Increased high rune drop rate
Increased mob density
Increased drop chance for items
Runes are now numbered (El (1), Eld (2) etc)
Tomes and keys stack limit increased to 50
Arrows/bolts stack to 500
Increased Hell Act 5 area levels, they now go from 81 to 99
Hell Cow Level increased to area level 99 (you can still access it anytime after killing Hell Baal)
New cube recipe for unsocketing: Scroll of Town Portal + Socketed Item = Item + Socketables --- Unsockets items without destroying runes :)
New cube recipe for full respec token: Scroll of Town Portal + Scroll of Identify = Token of Absolution
Ability to use all skills in towns (some get visually off though from town protection)
Andariel drops are always quest drops (Andariel bug, no longer have to manually bug her for better drops)
Planned features:
Infinite ammo on quivers/throwables
Perfect gem drops in Hell difficulty
Immunity removal (although i've heard that D2R vanilla already allows piercing through immunities)
Ability to use any or most skills from either side (auras under left-click etc)
Move-only skill
Something similar to Melee Splash mod (not sure yet, how to approach it)
Increasing maximum character level
Plugy-like respeccing of stats/skills
Ability to toggle features in .ini file like was the case with many mods in original D2 (trying to find, if someone has managed to make this functional)
Make numbered runes support all languages, currently they have number only in English version.
Known issues:
Assassins with speed buffs get too fast
Expanded storage submod issues (NoExpand version players shouldn't have those issues):
Weapon swap only works with hotkey
Clicking on Expansion button during character creation breaks Expanded inventories
Large Font breaks the UI
Karla.mpq is based on Expanded mod (Author: Bonesy) + Basic_QoL mod (Author: Cyhyraethz), with extra additions and alterations.

Now my game doesn't even work, crash at start :(
Unequip all items from mercenary and sell all rings/amulets in equipment/storages/inventory in the version you could play.
Then it will be compatible with new version.
Unfortunately the Mercenary submod corrupted some items and made imported d2/d2r characters crash, so I had to remove the submod.
I'm sorry for this :/
