I won't' be able to offer any support here on ModDB. If you encounter bugs and crashes, please report them on the TWC: .Bellum Crucis (twcenter.net) or Medieval II Technical Discussion & Support (twcenter.net).
Hey there,
I compiled the last version of Bellum Crucis with all the nice submods and patches I could find in the Forum. The main file includes:
This means that the game will still be in Italian, but you won't need to excavate eight different files from various threads on the Total War Center and figure out how to install them properly (which is quite a pain in the neck). The installation seems to be stable, judging by the limited amount of testing I did. None of this stuff was created by me, so I don't think I can offer any support.
EDIT: This is now outdated. The translation is far from perfect, but it's playable and included by default now.
Hey guys,
First of all: This is an Italian mod. An Engish translation for Bellum Crucis itself exists, but the mod is way more fun with the Enhanced submod. Now here's where things get sticky: the previous version of the Enhanced submod does have a translation. It's actually included in this file and you can access it once unpacked (in "[mod folder]\data\text_EN"). If you were to rename "text_EN" to just "text", the game would crash during launch, though, because the translation doesn't include the additions found in the Ultimate version of Enhanced.
Now, translating strings is not a hard task. Moreover, most of the work has already been done. I tried updating the translation myself, using Notepad++ and the Compare plugin. My (stable) intermediary results can be found here, another more recent, but unstable attempt is in "[mod folder]\data\textWIP".)
So why did I stop halfway through? The truth is: because of issues with the existing translation. In my opinion, it doesn't do the original mod justice, as it's a rather poorly executed machine translation with bits of Italian left all over the place with many immersion-breaking or outright unintelligible sentences. On top of that, even the relatively decent bits are often unspecific, and I often find it harder to understand the game mechanics by using the translated instructions than the original Italian. To be fair, I did learn French in school, so I might be able to make more sense of the Italian than most people here. The translation also strangely moves strings around randomly or even contains duplicates, which lead to CTDs.
Sometimes, I simply didn't grasp the intention of the original text, as is the case with some of the monastic buildings (what are the Desert Fathers doing in the Middle Ages?) or the guilds (there's one called "Ordine dei Pastori Erranti" - literally "Order of the Wandering Shepherds", that, despite its in-game description as historical, seems to be the product of the mod creators' imagination, but I might have simply misunderstood the idea behind it.
In light of all that, my opinion is that a completely new translation would be necessary, which is an undertaking whose scope goes way beyond my capabilities. If you're interested in joining forces to tackle this challenge, please reach out.

Hello, i can't find the setup.exe file
There is no setup file. You can simply unpack the mod into your mods folder.
In the version I'm about to upload, there will be a self-extracting archive that acts like a setup file.
The game crash when I started hot seat, how can I fix this?
I don't think BC was made with hotseats in mind. But there might be a way to enable them. I suggest you ask around on Twcenter.net.
