This mod is a subtle re-balancing of Europa Universalis IV-Rule Britannia (version 188.8.131.52 England). It revamps the pacing of technology, and adjusts costs, budgets and trade with an eye on realism, but does not sacrifice the finely tuned vanilla game-play in the process. *What this mod does do; is make the player capable of grand strategising, and less prone to disaster in the face of random chance. Now you can train up your armies and generals within a period of years (rather than decades), hire advisers that don't bankrupt your empire, have the AI treat you as they would any other nation, and force you to choose between provincial and technological development. A word of warning; Building an Empire from humble beginnings is faster and more dynamic, but disaster still looms if one expands too quickly and neglects the importance of trade, technology, alliances and training one's (now slightly more costly) army.
'Isorrowproductions' plays through EU4 Rule Britannia (after holding back on ranting about DLCs, and yes, we've all been there mate...), as England, leading to disaster and hilarity at every turn. A great glimpse of what the vanilla game has to offer and perhaps even providing a solid basis for why you should give 'Belli Universalis' a try (as it addresses many of the reasons that leaves his play-through an, albeit comic, disaster).
*Lastly I would just like say - if you love playing as tiny kingdoms in the Middle east, this mod is definitely for you.
