Beautiful Doom is the grandfather of total enhancement mods. First released back in 2008 this mod aims to improve each and every single object in Doom, making them smoother, more impressive visually and having better sounds while retaining the original Doom gameplay. However, for those, who like to spice things up there are 3 weapon sets to choose from and a number of features to tweak!
I would strongly urge anyone who is just starting to mod DOOM should start out with this! Beautiful Doom feels extremely polished when it comes to gameplay and visuals. I can't recommend this enough!

Definitely the best way to play vanilla Doom (for those who do not want changes to gameplay, just better animations, sounds and more polish overall). Time for Wolfenstein 3D next? :)

Truly excellent and polished work. Having played the entirety of Doom and Doom 2 with the Brutal Mod, this gives a pure, classic, and very fun experience.
Easy to run. No bugs. Classic SoundFX are there. Classic sprites are there, but polished and improved.
Goes great with mappacks from the Cacowards. Currently playing through 'Back to Saturn X' with this.
This mods just improves and adds quality to so many aspects of Doom - graphics, sounds, weapons... At the same time carefully preserving all the core game mechanics that we know and love.
