Hello and welcome to another Battlegroup42 update. We have been quiet recently but that doesn’t mean we haven’t been doing anything. We have lots of new things to show in the coming weeks so stay tuned. Today we have 3 new maps to show that will be included in our upcoming 1.35 patch. They are Battle for Trier, Carpathian Winter and Kishinev Pocket.

Battle for Trier
Originally “Supply Line” by Fizzy this map is now depicts the Battle for Trier. This battle occurred in early 1945 after the American’s had breached the vaunted German Siegfried Line by establishing a bridgehead across the Saar River at the village of Ockfen in February 1945. Trier was a German supply hub and a military stronghold in the Saar region. On the 27th of February units from the 94th Infantry Division and the 10th Armoured Division attack the town during the process of clearing the way for the US 3rd Army under General Patton to launch a major offensive towards the Rhine.
The map will come with full bot support and offers some intense fighting for the center controlpoints.

Carpathian Winter
This map was formally “Tundra” and has been reworked by SargeSurfat into this map depicted the German defence of the Carpathian Mountains in the winter of 1944. The German South Ukrainian units had fallen back to the mountains after the fall of Budapest. The Germans were exhausted, seriously undermanned and had lost most of their armour in the retreat. However they would throw everything at the Russians in order to prevent them capturing Vienna and to slow down the advance of the vastly superior Russian army for at least a few weeks.
This map introduces our reworked SU-100 tank destroyer and several new winterskins for soviet and german vehicles.

Kishinev Pocket
This map was formally “Operation Last Hope” by Gladiator and is based on the Eastern Front in 1944. During 1944 the rebuilt German 6th Army was pushed back towards the pre-war Romanian Frontier and established a defence line on the Dnestr River along with Romanian units. In late 1944 this area of the Eastern Front was relatively quiet and the German units had lost most of their armour to help shore up the pressurised areas of the Eastern Front. The Russians knowing this launched a powerful offensive on August the 20th which resulted in the encirclement of the 6th Army at Kishinev and its complete destruction within several days.
The map also got bot support done by Dnamro. Special feature: Stationary Katyusha batteries!

That´s for now. Expect more news soon, since we have some new toys for the ground troops as well. As always, here comes our request for new members to join our team. We are especially are looking for coders, modellers, skinners and unwrappers to help us getting new stuff into the mod.
