What? these cars were WAY old back then, and from what Mafia: City of Lost Heaven showed me, the Bolt Ace's wheels can easily be shot off.

My grandgrandfather always laughed about the french soldiers with their red pants as he could always see them hiding in the bushes.

The French government AND military wanted to change the uniform to something more suitable following the increasing ranges of weapons and battlefield visibility in the closing years of the 19th century, but they couldn't seem to find a style that they liked (those trialled always seemed to be too much like the uniform of another nation, usually Germany or Italy). The people, however, wanted the uniforms to remain unchanged, claiming that they were a symbol of France... Of course, in this debate with the government the army had no power and the people were eventually victorious. However, the government decided to compromise: the uniform would be replaced with fabric made from a blend of blue, white and red dyes (blue being the most prevalent and red the least), this change when they discovered the red the wanted was only produced in Germany. This resulted in the removal of red and the readjustment of the percentages of the other colours, resulting in horizon-blue, introduced in 1915. During both 1914 and the period in 1915 when HB had not been introduced (or when the full uniform hadn't been issued) many quick fixes were introduced, such as dark coloured over-trousers and dark trousers made from a variety of fabrics, such as corduroy. Dark kepi covers were also seen.

The deaths resulting from the bright uniforms were a steep price to pay for a "symbolic" uniform...
