I do hope you could help me please. I have followed your Graphics Mod Installation Guide as well as downloaded a few textures. I also changed the needed INI files as well as set graphics settings to High/Ultra. The problem I have is with TexMod. I can't seem to load different suits/capes. I also don't know if the other tex replacements I load are working. For instance the BllodFX one. Does it cause thughs to bleed? I can for instance just load 2 diferent types of suits names Armoured & ArmoredDesert v1.2. The rest just does not work. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Hello, excuse the late reply. Check my latest arkham city update here for the latest files, which i will add to moddb sometime soon: Youtube.com
I would expect the texture mods in the provided video to work, as the texture formats are .dds, whereas the texture mods currently on moddb use .png and .jpg image formats which prove not to be reliable.
It is also important to make sure detail level is set to 'extreme' (you can still adjust other settings manually). Hope your issue is solved :)
The Remastered suit needs to be a bit darker in color. And the cape and cowl does not feel as synchronized as it should be in terms of color.
Otherwise it is a great modification for the game that really improves it in multiple ways.
Thanks for the feedback. Haven't worked on City in a while because of Asylum. Almost finished my first update to Asylum though so may go back to working on City again.
Trust me, it is possible to replace everything, I am the perfect example and i was working completely alone. And it is bad that you judge your mod's future by it's popularity. If you don't do it for fun and especially for yourself then you will tire out eventually and stop working on it. When i made my Assassin's Creed Overhaul mod I never cared about popularity, i did it for myself, the views count never mattered to me. As for stability, that's why i never change the resolution beyond x2, in that way it will be much more stable. I managed to replace 600 textures for my mod and it works fine for most people. Use opentexmod instead of texmod, it is much more stable.
Believe me i'd love to replace every texture. I already love playing City with my current modifications and wanted to share that with fans of the game. It's just that i've recently finished college, and currently focusing on finding a job whilst doing numerous projects to help with my career plan which is to make films. This means i don't get enough time to work on these mods. The reason popularity matters for me is because money can be earned, atleast through youtube which is where i first revealed the mod. Getting many views on my mods is beneficial for the money and to please fans of the games. Money means i get more free time to work on these texture replacements. Its also always uplifting to read positive feedback which i've received quite a bit of on youtube. Thanks for the tips, surprised i haven't heard of Opentexmod. Will spend some time on learning how to utilize it properly.
So what exactly is the purpose of the mod ? I assume you are trying to achieve the same effect i did for my Overhaul mod for Assassin's Creed. If so, are you planning to replace all of the textures and make it look like a total remaster ? If yes, then i'm interested. Also i wonder why city and not asylum. Asylum has worse graphics so such mod would be better for it.
This mod intends to allow users with multiple options to suit their tastes whilst bringing many enhancements through both shader injection and texture replacement. I've currently allowed for different suit mixing options, Reshade presets and sky textures etc.
It is true that Asylum needs more of an upgrade texture wise, which is why i've been working on it for about two weeks now. City does still exhibit some low resolution textures that i do plan on updating and plus its one of my favourite games of all time which is why i focused on it first. Replacing even the majority of textures in City is highly unlikely though for a few reasons: it would take time doing this alone, the storage size of textures would be too large which means long loading time with Texmod, and finally this mod would need to gain popularity to justify dedication towards completing it. Currently working on covering enough textures in Asylum for its first texture pack update: Youtube.com
I'm sure i will eventually cover a better texture amount in Asylum than i will City. This is because Asylum has less textures to cover and lower resolution textures which means i can be a bit more efficient about texture size. City had me remaking many textures in 3k and 4k resolution which proved to take too much space which again means unfortunate loading times.
