This mod uses the unofficial Patch 1.06 but you don't need to download 1.06, it is already included in the mod
Some main Features
- Reworked AI completely: Easy, Normal and Hard army are changed
- AI will use nearly every ability or unit in the game
- AI tries to build much more drop zones, black markets etc. so it even will be a challenge in late game
- Reworked waypoints on all maps, so the AI tries to be more sneaky now
- New sounds: Added some new sounds and changed how some sound are being played
- Many balance changes. For example Aurora bomber is weaker and tank general can use a non-upgraded infernal cannon
- Fixed many crashes and mismatches original Zero Hour had (Not all unfortunately)
Download the new version here!
Many thanks to AGX750 for his .ini code which I used for the new reinforcement pad vehicles.
Installation:
1. Move all .big files to the root folder of your Command & Conquer: Zero Hour (Example: "D:\Origin\Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour").
2. Delete the "Scripts" folder located in "Generals Zero Hour\Data".
Unfortunately this version doesn't feature a changelog. The highlights of this update are:
- Fixed a lot mistakes in .ini files which should help with stability
- New, exclusive vehicles for reinforcement pads (Credits for vehicles to AGX750)
- New strategies for AI and general improvements
- Many new maps compatible with this mod (Please keep in mind that the unofficial maps won't work 100% with the AI as many waypoints are missing)
Converts most 8 player maps to 4 and 6 player maps and AI updates.
Initial release: Includes an english and german version. Localization might be a bit buggy. For now it doesn't include the Chemical General since he's...
Not managed to complete a game yet, getting "A serious error has occurred" just as the battle starts getting interesting.
Specifically playing Final Crusade as Lazer Gen vs Random Hard army.
Clean Origin install on Windows 10
Thanks for the report. Sadly zero hour doesn't provide proper crash logs. Because of this it's nasty to find the exact root of this issue.
But at the moment I'm cleaning up the skirmish scripts and found some errors which may cause this issue.
Hopefully I can fix most of them in the next version.
May I ask if something special happened right before the crash? For example some lags, was the enemy about to fire a superweapon etc.
Actually I was about to engage a lot of units into their base both times this occurred, hence "just as the battle starts getting interesting". I'll run a few tests to try and narrow down what could be a triggering event.
Another issue I had trouble with which may or may not be due to the mod, I don't remember having related issues in the past when running ZH. Alt+Tabbing will make the game crash more than half the time.
I must apologise.
I have a new laptop, I've undervolted the CPU, integrated GPU and dedicated GPU. Games usually switch to the dedicated GPU, however Zero Hour uses the integrated GPU. Looks like I undervolted the integrated GPU too much for gaming. I tuned it back a bit and didn't have any issues.
wish you made the same thing for reborn 4 rise to power
I never played reborn and first I want to finish work on some other mods (including this mod), so chances are slim that I start another big project :/
try to play reborn then and you will decide if this mod can be big project my opinion if you do it your mod will be number one its all up to you
well, reborn 4 is one of the best mods out there, the only problem is that the AI is..pretty bad, I like to see something like this in that mod, but gj!
did you played with reborn 6.26? if you did witch one is better V4 or V6.26?
I say reborn 4, and I did play 6 as well but...reborn 4 is so much more fun, and balanced tooo, too bad the AI is really baad lol
and i have played many more mods but reborn 4 is always on top!
hi mr boxhead please can you fix zero hour reborn v6.26 mod balance and AI? your mod is amazinge but with this mod will be number one mod any way your mod the best AI and balance
I cant unpack i have error in package ?
Help ?
The new tweaks you added are really nice.
The only real thing I'm missing is the option to turn off general powers or superweapons, to have those massive unit only battles, which is always cool.
Keep up the good work
Thanks! Doing my best to improve it further.
I'm not exactly sure if it's easily possible to add a new option to completely turn off general powers/superweapons but I can take a look if I can implement it.
