Cool mechanic! I wonder if the same could be done if you have a higher class barracks that provides upgrades for your lower tier infantry!

The thing about that is, that we cant check if there is infantry on ground as easy as if there is a space ship in orbit. EAW provided a simple xml tag for that <Orbiting_Units> or something that they used for the Arc Hammer, but nothing alike for ground. If we dont find a good workaround it most likely wont happen...

Nice feature, but isnt it going to flood the buildbar and make some units unbuildable by pushing them out of the bar? I mean if you build a barracks on this planet it has only two slot left for ground units. 4 after upgrading.

We will most likely implement a filter systen, so you can only show buildings, frigates, infantry or whatever. So we wont run into the problem with the GUI

Description

Hello!

Today we are showcasing a new gameplay mechanic that also utilizes the Upgrade System.

You can now as the Rebels upgrade your Dreadnaughts to Alliance Light Frigates and Alliance Assault Frigates and upgrade the Fighter Loadout of your Quasars to A-Wings and B-Wings.
As the Empire you can upgrade Fighter Loadouts of Victorys, Imperial Star Destroyers, Gladiators and of cours the Ton-Falk Cruiser.

For an upgrade you have to move the unit you want to upgrade in orbit of a planet with the correct spacestructure (Frigate Shipyard for the Dreadnaught, Fightershipyard and Fighterextensions for the rest).
