Even if that means crossing a minefield!
Well then, the biggest news as of now is that InsurgentCeLL has joined the ranks and is pretty much the closest i got to a member of the team. As of now he has free will to do what he likes. What this means is that its up to him to decide when to work with Assault Horizon or not. Modding takes alot of time and i for one knows this. I do not want to take someones free time away from them so.. Thats that.
As of now his helping out with some 3D Models. I cant promise that this will make the release date come any closer but it will help me in the long run as i can use less time actully making the 3D Models and instead get a good base to either use directly or to add some details too. I still need to texture the models myself and that is time consuming (probably the most time consuming part of modding) and then code them, which isen't that much of a problem to do.
The new faction is about 25 to 50% done for release. Somewhere around there, we got some class A Models in the works, as stated before, it's the texture process that will take some time. Codewise i've added some new bits and fixed some others. I will fix up the PLA Infantry "cant capture building" bugs today. Tried to play AH over network. Got the Missmatch problem, tried to fix that the same way Contra and ROTR did it. Hopefully this will work.
Also if you want to be like InsurgentCeLL and be a good lad and help out, this is what you can do for me.
- Not to be a bitch about it, but if you want to help out models wise.. Be sure to be confident about your skills with modeling. I've seen InsurgentCeLL's models and they are good enough to be used directly or as i said, a great base to add detail too. I had alot of people that want to help out by posting maps, models and texture and it's always fun to see. But i can't use stuff that is fairly basic or noobish to begin with, sorry to say. Keep working on those skills, Even i had to begin from somewhere.
- 3D Artist aren't that hard to find compared to texture artist or sound artist. Sure if you think you got what it takes to help out. Post some models and i will check them out, even give you pointers what to think about if i decide it's not good enough. But truth be told i do not need 3D Artist as much as i would need a texture artist for now. But those are hard to come by and would be a job that would demand more time then from a 3D Artist. A 3D Modell can take up to just an hour or two to make for generals. A texture up to 6-8 for me to do. It's safe to say that i got alot of untextured models just waiting to get textured.
- Think ahead before you even try/ask to join my side. I'm a nice guy like everyone else. And if you do want to join in and help me create one of the best mods for generals out there, it would be fun if you'd stick by to the end. Especially if you are a good texture artist. It would SUCK to have a good texture artist 8better then me) that textures alot of the units and then this person decide to leave halfway thru. Leaving half of the games units less on par with the rest.
That is it for today i guess, i wont go on forever and ever abot it. Use common sense, thats how i survived in the big world until now.
Next release will be released when it's ready to be released, no exceptions. The faction is yet to be revealed, One thing is for sure. This faction packs some serious firepower! Until then AH Fans. Take Care!
