One-man mod. Planed to have over 40 playable factions. Going for realism with units ragin' from as early as late world war 2 to near future units. Mod will be release in the near future, as i plan to release early betas instead of holding on to something that never get released anyway.

I suggest you download some other mods for ZH and look into their texture files and look how they've done it. (for best results learn from Cold War Crisis mod - I learned a lot just by looking at the texture files)

I know how to texture, but as you can see i spit out models alot faster then most, i cant spend hours with a model because then id be stuck with releases once a year, textures will be redone about the same time as when i fix the diffrent textures for snow / woodland variants.

Apply a second texture path with the multiply effect can made the tank looking better, but you need to made a modified texture (original texture + bump map effect + black and white)

No, not a real bump map... In a bump-map, the effects move when the light exposition change. In general, it will just make the model looking les smooth and a bit darker (here, it mean realistic).
The problems is that it will -perhaps- look "strange" in C&C general's environment.
If you think so, option are :
-make the "bump-map" texture smoothest and/ore more bright
-apply this tuto :
Moddb.com
(thanks sgtmyers88)

Sorry, I've forgot an option :
-make the "bump-map" texture smoothest and/ore more bright and/or transparency.
-apply this tuto :
