Ashes is a Post-apocalypse themed total conversion for the GZDoom engine. It combines old school build style level design and Doom style action with a twist of Stalker and Fallout.
Just completed the whole thang ding (Episode 1, Afterglow and Dead Man Walking), and my enduring feeling is that I can't believe something this good is completely free.
The few nitpicks I have simply pale into insignificance when challenged by: "yes... but this amazing thing's free!" I mean, so what if some doors, lockers and phone booths feel about ten feet high? :-) This thing's free, FFS!
It's so clear how much love and care has been put into Ashes 2063, in every way, that it absolutely deserves a 10. I'm only sorry it didn't place higher in the MOTY 2021 :-(
The best damn survival FPS ever made for GZDoom. So much content I dare you to play all of it, you'll become addicted and your life will fall apart, yet you won't care ... the game must go on. Its a little bit STALKER, meets Mad Max, meets, Fallout, meets DOOM. Its damn near perfection.
Insanely well made and FREE! This is a mod! It feels like im stealing! Vostyok if you are reading this, the next ashes episode should be on steam like Hedon.

Damn, that's a diamond-solid project! Most ambitious since Blade of Agony. The atmosphere is just stunning, and the art style is ingenious! Well done!
