Click and find out more ;) Welcome to a new era of Warhammer ! Welcome TO HELL !
Here is the combat/gameplay side of things to complement the new Eldar features video I made. You can see just how the speed GREATLY affects the Eldar, as well as enhanced imagery.
Hey developers nice work just awesome! I want to ask you about textures, I know this is an early development version and models and textures are raw, but I often saw very bad and SOAPY textures in different mods, like we are playing operation flashpoint, so question is: Is it hard to do quality textures in arma engine or developers just don't have tools such as Photoshop, quixel(maybe), pixplant, crazybump etc?
Diffuse, ambient occlusion, specular and normal maps are all possible with currently available software/addons/plugins.
It's down to interest, time and skill level. All of these things vary and have an effect on each other. Which is why there's such a range in quality from mod to mod.
It isn't too hard to make textures, just a matter of time and detail.
As for raw and soapy textures on the Eldar, I agree. That being said, they are for a pre alpha, I didn't put too much work into them, and I don't know what material their armor is supposed to be like. (Is it like a ceramic, glass, bone, metal, rubber? Etc...)
It's hard to put detail in the texture if you don't know what it should look like :D
In the not so far off future, I plan on making new Eldar models and textures, using new methods I have acquired since these current ones were made.
Look at this picture that is the cover for the Eldar fourth edition codex.

That is what I want the Eldar in this mod to end up like, very sleek and light armor, with graceful lines and curves. -Something which, in my opinion, the current Eldar models somewhat fail to do, in my opinion, their armor looks a bit too thick and 'clunky.' But that doesn't mean I don't like my current Eldar, though :)
That's for a future beta or something along those lines, though. This is currently a pre-alpha/alpha, which I believe is for testing content out and seeing how it all works.
"and I don't know what material their armor is supposed to be like. (Is it like a ceramic, glass, bone, metal, rubber? Etc...) "
From what I've read it has a crystalline nature. Pearls have that property. So I imagine wraithbone could be something similar to those. Smooth, flowing and with an iridescent quality. But tough. Pearls come in many forms too apparently. Not just spheres.
Woahhoohoo this is marvelous! :D That pearlyish nature for wraithbone sounds like a really cool idea!
