Features

  • A dark, epic storyline set across multiple worlds.
    Awakened in the TES purgatory, you are tasked by a Primordial being to scour the realms of Oblivion to destroy the 16 Daedric Lords, and assemble the Heart of Lorkhan. What you choose to do and how you do it is up to you.
  • Multiple, fully realized worlds and environments to explore. Scour the Oblivion realms, the remnants of Battlespire, and the Dreamsleeve, the home of the abandoned dead in an epic dark tale that will challenge you at every step.
  • Unique and memorable boss encounters with challenging mechanics. Engage in one-on-one combat with the 16 Daedric Lords. An encounter with a Daedric lord is a grueling but rewarding experience. But they are not the only threat, other powerful beings will inhabit these worlds.
  • Fully voice acted quests and side quests with memorable NPC's and storylines.
  • Unique Daedric artifacts, spells and weapons. An arsenal of unique artifacts with special effects, abilities, creature summons and transformations awaits you. Employ these to your advantage as the world will prove to be an unforgiving place.

Greetings!
Apotheosis has rapidly progressed since our last update. The following trailer showcases completed environments in the Dreamsleeve, Battlespire, and many realms of Oblivion as well convey the general mood we're going for. We've also included a teaser of a few of the bossfights that await you in Apotheosis. We're nearing completion in the level design front, and will moving on to quest and NPC implementation soon.


- RELEASE DATE -
Apotheosis is expected to launch in 2018 on Nexusmods, Moddb and Bethesda.net for Legendary Edition (PC) and later that year for Skyrim Special Edition (PC/Xbox).


Current Status
13/16 realms of Oblivion are complete, the hub world of Dreamsleeve roughly twice the size of Solstheim from the Dragonborn DLC, and parts of Battlespire.

Many of the realms of Oblivion are large exploratory levels involving overworlds and a plethora of things to discover, while others focused unique experiences that are more experimental.

Ashpits, Hunting Grounds, Attribution Share, Chimera of Desolation (Deadlands), Coldharbor, Moonshadow and Apocrypha are on the larger side and rival the size of a few Skyrim holds each. Smaller realms offer a focused, unique and more experimental approach.

These levels are complete; this means landscaping, points of interest, enemy encounters and bosses, gameplay logic and scripting, new art assets and models, navmesh, lod, traps, and interiors all done within these locations. On top of that, we have developed a lot of new assets, armors, weapons, spells, creatures, an original soundtrack and high quality recorded NPC dialogue.

What Remains

  • Completing Vaermina's Quagmire, the Realm of Clavicus Vile and Namira's Scuttling Void.
  • Finalizing quest and NPC implementation.
  • QA.

Design and Vision
Apotheosis leaves progression to the player. You are given the ultimate goal of assembling the Heart of Lorkhan, but the means in which you do it, and where you go is left to the player to decide.

You awaken in the Dreamsleeve, home of the souls of the dead, recycled into new life. The Dreamsleeve slowly feeds on it's inhabitants being; their memories and sense of self are slowly drained till all is left is a husk of their former selves. Gradually, the soul goes hollow.

The Dreamsleeve functions as the hub world in Apotheosis.

At the center of the Dreamsleeve is the Cathedral of the Final Hour, a mecca where the souls of the dead congregate to preserve their memories. The Cathedral acts as the player's homebase, much in the same way as Firelink Shrine operates in the Souls games. From here, you embark in all directions in search of Oblivion Gates into the realms of the Daedra.

You can tackle any of the 16 Oblivion gates in any order, at your leisure, encountering people with their own stories, quests and motivations along the way, discovering ruined cities, villages, artifacts and more. You will need to explore, optimize the use of abilities, weaknesses and resistances against the various creations of Oblivion, in the ultimate purpose of obtaining the Heart of Lorkhan. Achieving this goal may entail defeating the 16 Lords of Oblivion, but there are other ways.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I read in the comments that a public discord server is in the works. Any estimation on when that will be available?

While browsing through the screenshots I noticed a few from the chimera of desolation and the battlespire. Does that mean that there are plans for other realms of oblivion besides the realms of the daedric princes?

This mod looks great.

People need to stop making inane requests in the comments section. It just comes across as childish whining and begging.

"Can you please implement my personal wishlist so I can blah blah blah blah blah."

Very few people seem to understand that making a mod, let alone something as complex as this, is a massive undertaking. Asking Di0 to take into consideration your own personalized idea of what the mod should look like is incredibly selfish.

The guy obviously has a vision and it looks like it's going to be amazing. Just let him work.

Everyone has their own opinion, some probably differ from the mod author which understandable.

I personally like what seems to be implemented so far, based on the updates he has posted.

That aside, it would be nice to know:
*how much of the mod is completed
*what is their left to implement

I understand the mod author will likely make a release date when he believes it to be necessary, but some people are probably no doubt curious as to the progress of the mod.

As far as requesting new features go, i don't think it is wise to make unnecessary request of the mod author, as that MIGHT increase the workload and further push back the release date.

It's fine to have their opinions. It's just ridiculous to come up to a mod author working on such a huge project and saying, like... I dunno, something like 'Yeah, in the lore, X Plane has countless alternate versions. Are you going to make like 20 planes to reflect that one part? Because that would be so cool.' It's one thing to ask something like 'can you loot the sword in that picture?' and another to request something that could take years of work.

Or even worse, when people downright demand things as opposed to asking for it. "Well if you're making us Gods, then you can't not give us our own Oblivion Plane that we can control, and also we should be able to create our own daedra servants, and it would suck if we can't even enslave any of the Princes and keep them as fully voiced NPCs servants.'

Yes, your idea might be interesting. Yes it could be cool. No, Di0 does not 'have' to do it for the mod to be good. Especially if you say it like that. Di0's mod will clearly be ridiculously awesome. Any more additions would be amazing, but not a single one is mandatory.

I've made an account on moddb solely because of this mod (I usually go by this name on Nexus and other places). I want to say that the work I've seen so far is absolutely fantastic and I am amazed by how well done are the plains, and how accurate are the visuals. I happen to be a lore-nerd and things like these make me happy. Of course I'm curious if there are any plans to add something Sanguine or Myriad Realms of Revelry-related (perhaps you need some ideas? I've got tons of those), because I cannot find anything related to it in the images section (if it's present and I haven't noticed, I'm sorry!), and my second question would be if we will be given an option to ally the daedric princes and creatures during our walkthroughs without it being necessary to become an enemy to them (it's a case where I tend to roleplay as servants/champions of Princes in my stories), to let us have few ways to play this very perspective mod. I will be lurking this page now checking for updates and I hope to see more of these brilliant images coming as you add more content.

With the release of ESO: Summerset on PC/Mac, and the NDA being lifted, I'd like to inform you that Clavicus Vile's realm is officially being called the Fields of Regret. Feel free to disregard this as I've seen you say that ESO's lore will not be taken into consideration, though it would be much better than labeling the realm "Realm of Clavicus Vile" in the mod. As always, I look very forward to future updates, and I cannot wait to see how you're choosing to represent Vile's Oblivion realm.
