New modpack for AoE HD that redesign all the terrains and units. With the incoming HD remake i was really sad that the only remarkable features where moving water and new weird cliffs. So i decide to finish something that started 5 years ago and this is the result, i really hope you all enojoy it and have some fun :)
All the footman units are done for both North european and West european sets. Now Is time for some cavalry.
La verdad que te esta quedando muy bien el mod @Jorgito_Lando. Good job ;)
Gracias! :D
You should bring back your old champion
It will make a return, as a hero unit or maybe for a specific civ. I am thinking of making some units like champs, paladins to have a unique look among the civs. The basic armor is done so is a matter to change the heraldry on the surcoats and give them different shields/helmets

incredible! they all look amazing :D
thanks!!
Honestly I think the new champions look great
Thank you :)
You're doing the European factions based in north and west of Europe. Surely after of finish them completely you will do the 'arabians', the 'asiantics' and the 'americans' faction units. Right? But yeah, do it in order. After of finish the European ones, just relase this and then began with the other actions.
Is a idea. If you has a better one, okay.
Yes that is the idea, finish europeans, make them playable in game and probably release a beta with both factions.
Then move on to arabic set, do the same and so on :)
That way I can recive feedback early instead when everything is released so I can fix stuff when is needed.
I'm oly thinking now in a campaign mission of Conquerors. The one of the English king that must escape from France. Surely the english with have N.E. Units and France will have the W.E. Units.
Muy buenos! Excelente laburo! Hay chance que este mod este disponible para el DLC The Forgotten?
Great project! I've always wondered about having culture-specific realistic units. The only problem is that all units look awesome while ingame they still are crap (e.g. man-at-arms and longswordsman look like footknights here).
In my opinion there is perhaps too little difference between two-handed swordsmen and champions, and between crossbowmen and arbalests.
Also both cultures' pikemen are wielding pole-axes or voulges, which basically are sorts of halberds.
Cheers
Hi there, first of all thanks a looooot for the honest feedback :)
The Aok progression doesnt make any sense. It was made that way to help the gameplay experience of people starting with bad looking units till they get a fully upgraded unit at the end to feel acomplished.
The mod is based on historical elements, and I am getting the help of a history teacher to base the units.
Take a look at this picture to show you an example of armor progression:
Imgur.com
or for example look at this man at arms: Media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com
I am basing the units on concept art taken from the Osprey books.
Both lancers are just using a lance.
N.E Pikeman is using a spear and W.E pikeman is using a guisarme
N.E Halberdier is using a poleaxe and W.E Halberdier is using a long spear.
Also this units will have different attacks according their weapon instead of just stabbing.
Other thing is that the "swordman" units where always better equiped than the lancers, skirmishers, etc.
___________
But if more people feel that the low tier units should look worse let me know. I didnt render them yet so I still have time to change them.
This is awesome!
I can't wait to see what you do with Asian and middle eastern units!
EDIT: Also, what about an eastern european? Byzantine, Russian, Magyar, Slavic types?
He told me that he will do them after to finish the european units and released them
Awesome job!!!
