This mod attempts to reflect the reality of 13th century Europe. The starting point of the journey is year 1257 AD and attempts to be as historically accurate as possible. From this point on the player and NPC lords shape this land and fight for supremacy and control of the continent.

you mean the hand not even touching the string? because if it's been fixed in your game i'm quite interested what my problem is because i cant seem to fix it. it ruins the whole mod for me

I'm having a strange issue. Nearly every action I take ingame the game shoots out a "unable to find shader parameter named vfresnelmultiplier" line. So I uninstalled all of 1257 and resinstalled the 1.03 exe and added the 1.11 patch on top. However the issue still remains.

Anyone knows how to resolve this? Am I missing an essential patch?

***Edit*** Nevermind. I found this was for 1.1 and not for 1.03

do infantry still switch to spears when they spawn? I know this is historicly accurate but I found it really annoying because when my infantry meets the enemy infantry it takes really long before they get a kill and the soldiers with two handers just beast everything.

Historically..... Weapon reach was a important part of fighting. So technically twohanders/polearms should be pretty dang good to an extent.

Basically swords where used like a modern day sidearm.

The only army to ever use swords as a primary weapon was Rome due to their fighting style.

True but polearms are pretty useless close range in the hands of an NPC.

they could make the polearms stronger, or they could make extra weapon using orders when in battle, where u choose the type

Japan used spears extremely extensively as well. They still mainly considered swords to be sidearms. You don't take a short weapon to a very long pointy stick fight.

For those asking if the new 1257 ad update works with 1.166- it does!

But it turned out to be not save game compatible as I kept getting shaders, errors, etc constantly(one of the save games where i could not even move on the map) so no more being an Emperor of most of Europe for me, but I was getting tired of that game anyways ;D

If you have the latin names...I know it can be annoying so just unpack the en folder in languages folder in 1257 ad mod folder and you will live the life you want to live- 1257 ad mod all day after work with your girl on your lap making hot pockets ;P

Hi guys I have Downloaded and installed the mod and the patch (1.10, and 1.11) but all I get is a file called 12571.1AD or something and It does not come up on my M + B launcher.

Anyone here have the problem like me. My game saving too slow, take about 30s to saving game. Not like brytenwalda or other mod they saving game very quich, just with one click :(

To install this properly do I need to manually post every file or folder into the 1257AD folder? Just extracting it only dumps the patch folder in the main directory.

First of all, i know this is the large mode, but only with this mode it need mote then 5 seconds to save game wehn press F12. Second why the names didnt showed at english when i instaled the english names for troops?
