An introduction of W.A.R.R.C. for Anno 2170 A.R.R.C. It's features in higher details level that the description and some explanation about mod concept and direction.

Introduction:

As far as i know it is the only mod of that kind for Anno games. Maybe other projects exist, i do not speak german and did not participate to Anno 1404 modding during past years, so my knowledge of what have been done since Anno 1404 isn't full.

Main ideas and concepts have been running in circles in my head for few years.
But W.A.R.R.C. started as a simple speed readjustement for personnal/friends use.
The further it went, the further things started to take place. Finaly it became a gobal rebalance of Anno 2170 A.R.R.C. that could add something to the game enough to share it.

Must tell my admiration for the Anno 2170 A.R.R.C. team's work. Their mod adds features that made this rebalance of Anno 2070 possible. Without their work, there would be few sense in those kind of attempts of expanding game possibilities. Their mod allows the player to choose better what's he's going to do and how to do it, in fact.

Anno 2170 A.R.R.C. is a solid Anno 2070 experience to base work on and expand on, giving Anno players more mod options, gameplay styles, play styles.... This game and what has been done via Anno 2170 A.R.R.C. has tonns of potential.


Features Explained

All movements speeds, manoeuvrabilities reworked (map size virtually x2 due to that)
Includes turn speeds, climbing speed for aircraft, turning behavior, some acceleration revamps...

Exemple: Colossus will be faster when going straight than the Helios. But when it comes to turn a lot, the Colossus becomes slower than the Helios. Also the colossus takes more time than Helios or Viper to turn into it's target direction, means it will fire less and overall deal less DPS, especially when the target is fast circling around (only human do that)... Exemple of tactical consequences of dynamics rework.

Trade routes require better micro due to transport slowdown and require more ships in fact =)
Technology now makes greater difference.

Firing ranges replaced by a new system. Linked to DPS changes and rate of fire changes.

Exemple: Firebird bomber won't outrange an AA turret.
But if you upgrade Firebird with +20% range it will outrange the AA turret.
This advantage ends with a range upgrade of the defence systems.
Colossus VS turrets range upgrade race. Tech turrets finishes by winning tho.

DPS of many units redone to fit their specialization(and in a lesser way to also fit their graphics!) Linked to firing range changes and rate of fire changes.

Agree that a stone thrower dealing more damage than a pistol is maybe good for balance sometimes, but looks horrbile... I reduced that stonethrower effect or to moved it from one aspect of balance to another to keep core aspects of Anno.

Submarines movement speed greatly reduced. Subarimes slower than most ships.

Subamrines attack speed greatly reduced. (DPS untouched)

Submarines range augmented.

Aircraft fuel consumption augmented greatly.

Chopper flight range may seem ridiculous, don't be fooled by this, they're still evil used both against and by the AIs. Fuel consumption improvements are now much more useful.
Want to bomb targets on the other side of the map? Create a long range specialized strike group.

Turrets rework: Range, DPS, HitPoints. AA turret got only a tiny range reduction.

Harbour Defence Turret 1200 HP, range reduction, tiny DPS increase, serious firing rate inscrease.
Tech Mobile Harbour Defence 500HP, minor range reduction, firing rate big reduction. DPS untouched.

This two turrets got separate roles. The Harbour Defence turret takes damage better, is more effective against numerous light targets and the Mobile Harbour Defence against slow big ones.

Aircraft roles switch (WIP temporary)

Bomber stays bomber.
Chopper can now attack underwater targets and no more air targets.
Hawk can now attack buildings and ships but not underwater anymore.
Also flight model redone for the 3 combat aircrafts in player use.

Economical minor changes. Makes things more challenging/difficult.

Income from populations divided by 2
Depots, Warehouses, Shipyards, Aeroports use more energy and cost more.
Storage buildings have their storage tonns divided by 2.
Some minor price reduction for some units, some minor price increase, some price back to vanilla anno 2070 standart (from A.R.R.C. prices)

Warehouses, Storage warehouses, Depots - medium HP increase (also to reduce AI vulnerability to precision bombing zerg)

All AIs uses more units. Don't panic if 10s of Thor Stringberg units rush you... That's how it is untill i improve it.

Especially critical difficulty inscrease if start with 1hours or no peace and no developement strategy. Not noobfriendly at all. This will change to avoid the player repetitive starts with Stringberg zerging you. Matter of coop testing and time.

AI behavior reworked.

Danger evaluation mechanics changed to give better survivability.
Repair, retreat, forces gathering, target selection, patrol - redone. WIP

LOS reduced by approx. 2 for most units. Longer exploration of bigger map. Get it? Less cakewalk.

• Research system of A.R.R.C. rebalance
• Arch system rework
