Ok, first things first - this version is much better than the original. However, it still has its issues, and then adds some of its own.

In a nutshell: This mod is okay, but 9 years after the game release there's nothing here which you haven't seen before.

Upsides:
• Decent+ level detail
• Above average lighting
• Fixes some issues of the original
• Pretty much bug-free
Downsides:
• A LOT of backtracking
• No ambience at all (bad sound design)
• Unintuitive puzzles
• Mediocre story with bad writing

―Level Design―
The level of detail in this has been significantly improved which makes the map look more lively, so congrats to whichever one of you did this.
Even though it isn't too original, it's really decent.
The lighting could use some more work, but it's still much better than most mods out there.

However, the level design hasn't improved from the original - it's still a singular sprawling map, which forces you to walk around way too much. Especially when the mod requires as much backtracking as it does.
Sidenote, the size of the map and the number of SpotLights bogs down the performance, you could use some tricks to make it better.

―Puzzles―
Many of the original puzzles have been scrapped in place of better ones, so that's good. However, most of them are still very obscure:
• There is zero hints to what put on the pedestal. I only figured it out because the required object was a custom entity.
• You still spawn items when you want which makes it confusing. It's an interesting idea to make the objects pick-up-able only when you know you need them, but it doesn't work for gameplay reasons - the player already has been everywhere and there was nothing there. Personally, I remembered about the jar but the string was annoying.
• The third button placement was bismal. There is nothing to indicate that it's there. I actually had to look into the script and the map file to find it. Remember this: looking for objects isn't fun when you have zero hints to their location.

―Scariness―
None.
The mod does not have any music or ambiance, so 95% of the time you just walk in silence. The rainy sound from the original has been silenced, which is realistic but anticlimatic.
Asides from 2-3 kinda predictable monster encounters, there were no other scares.

I took a look at the mod files, and it seems that one of the music files is just 5 minutes of silence. Also why are you using a custom class for the music? It doesn't seem to work.

―Story―
Nothing too interesting, pretty much just an excuse to do some stuff in a mansion. Also the writing is heavy (walls of text) and grammar is a bit poor sometimes. However considering the length of the mod, it's not much of an issue.

―Nitpicks―
• You included the vanilla music in the download again. You don't need (and shouldn't) do that.
• I found some voice acting in the files. If it was supposed to appear in the mod, it didn't and you should fix it. Otherwise maybe better to not include it
• Some bug which might not be your fault, see picture:

[Don't mind the broken lantern, I forgot to fix an addon I use]

―Minor praise―
• The jar animation could be done more easily and look nicer if you used MoveObjects, but I gotta say it's pretty creative.
• You actually fixed the stuff which I mentioned in the comments. Good job!

―Final verdict―
As far as mods go, this is average, especially considering the fact that it's short.
As a remaster, it holds up - improves the original greatly, and is an indication that you have learned some lessons from the last time.
I'm giving it a 5 - "An okay mod with prominent issues" (see my blog for my rating details)

Took me 1 hour to complete that library puzzle. This is extremely obscure and it seems u just can't take any negative opinion on your mods because you delete negative comments from your comment section for

Most of the issues from my original review still apply in this review and appear in this "remaster", and some of these issues were actually amplified.

- Uncooked and unoriginal story
Again, the story is told through notes only, which at this point is just boring, especially if the notes are filled with lots of grammar mistakes and improper wording.

- Lazy puzzle design, some of which didn't make any sense at all
Probably the weakest point of this mod is the puzzles, especially the puzzle of locating the buttons. You literally hid one of the buttons behind random books on a random bookshelf.
The player couldn't even notice that button was there in the first place. I had to open the map in the level editor to figure out where that button was, and it turns out I needed to take a ladder and use it in order to get to that button. How would I know to take that ladder and put it in that very specific location you set for it in the first place?

- Lack of any atmosphere
There was no music nor ambient sounds I could hear. At least there was some music / ambiance in the previous version but this one is completely quiet. Even if you just add some rain sounds I assure you the atmosphere will be much stronger.

However, the level design has improved a lot, and it's probably one of the better parts of this mod. Great job to Vaelius for adding details and lights!

In conclusion:

Pros:

-Much better level design than the first version

Cons:

-Really uncooked story, and an unoriginal at that.

-Lazy and obscure puzzle design

-Lack of atmosphere

I suggest you practice story writing, as well as taking care of fixing grammar mistakes, either by learning English or either by asking help from someone.
There are great articles on the internet, some of which were written by Thomas Grip, on how to craft a good horror game. I'm sure it could help you.

Nice job. Though i dont recall much about your first attempt at this cs. But i can tell you the pluses, imo. Atmosphere was well done, and i like your placement of audio cues, made me feel very tense. The level designs were quite nice, tho sometimes felt a little cluttered. Small gripe, just what i saw. And a nice amount of monster encounters and scares. My only main gripe, was that it was just too short. Otherwise, again, nice job. :)

Agree Disagree

Upsides:
• Really good level details
• Excellent lighting
• Good sound design
• Bug-free as much as I experienced
• Puzzles are enough intuitive
Downsides:
• Not enough journal quests in my opinion, if I would save and exit and replay it after a few days I won't remember what my objective was
• Not enough scare tactics
• Run speed is reduced, this is ok if there's not backtracking but instead here there's backtracking, so reduced speed can be a bit boring

Overall not bad at all! The upsides are more than the downsides and even if maybe it's too short it's still quite enjoyable, the level details and the lighting are astonishing, I would suggest to improve the scare tactics :)

It is 10 for me

I like it, 10 of rating, HELL YEAH

Pretty boring puzzle solving with mediocre story telling. The level design is only good thing for this cs.
