Special thanks to Elratie for this model, GP for the rigging. As the photo implies, the Lancer is replacing the Tartan. Balancing was not too difficult with this. In lore, but the Lancer and the Tartan are very similar. Both are 250 meters in length, both are armed with 20 laser cannons and both fill the same role. Their stats almost mirror each other, but the Tartan is actually corvette while the Lancer is a frigate, and I really wanted to reflect that.
The Lancer will have the same shield points as the Tartan did, but its shield type will be different. It will have access to more of its guns than the Tartan did. In lore the Tartan had the 20 laser cannons, but did not have access to all of them in the base game for balance reasons. The Lancer is getting access to all 20. For special abilities, the Lancer will have Point-defense and Power to Weapons. Like the Tartan you still get your PtW ability. For those that really like the Tartan, I have the Lancer as almost mirroring the Tartan, but with buffs. Anything one could do with a Tartan, they can do with this, but now they have a ship that is a bit better.
