This mod, formally named Violet Alliance, enhances the original game by unlocking, changing, and adding. Enjoy. :^)
Once again I am grouping units. I feel like these two should share a weekly spot due to both being iconic Rebel land vehicles in the base game. The MPTL-2a is not Canon and I needed replacement. That is the Hailfire Droid. Special thanks to Dice for the model (EULA is fine), Clonetrooper163 for the rigging, and Warper for the texture edits. Yes the Hailfire is already in the mod, but it has gone over a complete redesign. I went back and studied the Hailfire, found it to be very powerful and concluded, okay this is the replacement. How has it changed? Its anti-personnel blaster will now be more useful in close-range combat, it can now fire on the move, its damage per shot and attack range has increased, and unlike the MPTL that requires a Spotter Droid to aid it, the Hailfire has a built in Ping ability. Bear with me, give it a change to show how it can now better shine.
Now the replacement to the T4-B is a completely new vehicle. This is the Heavy Tracker. Special thanks to modder Evilbobthebob for this. Like the T4-B, it too has a giant cannon up top. It might only be one, but I can offer reasons why players might prefer this over the T4-B. It does not fire the same amount of shots the as T4-B, but its base damage per shot and attack range is also greater than what the T4-B's is, and each shot deals a bit of AoE damage. One does not need to swap to rockets for AoE at the cost of damage. You are getting the AoE, the range and damage all in one shot without weapon swaps. The Heavy Tracker is also heavily armored like the T4-B, and while slow like the T4-B, hovers which gives it more options when traveling. The Freerunner is stop top predator for the Rebels. Just like before, the Freerunner outshined the T4-B, the Heavy Tracker replacing it is still inferior to the Freerunner, but I would say it is better than the T4-B.
Two iconic tanks are passing the torch to, what I deem their Canon counterparts are, I promise, I have done my best to honor them.
