Ages of the Federation is a new total conversion mod for Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion. This mod takes place in the Enterprise and Original series eras, focusing on the conflict between the early Federation and Klingon Empire. A resurgent Romulan Star Empire, angry and still licking its wounds after their defeat to Earth and her allies waits in the shadows, ready to take advantage of any of misstep by either the warring powers. The Xindi, new to the galactic stage are also eager to forge their own path.

Pity we never got to see the refitted Enterprise and how the ship changed internally.
I'm pretty sure the refit was planned for the next season. It's a shame ENT didn't get at least one more year.

Sadly that damn writer's strike happened and made them have to make that ok (but not nearly what it deserved) series finale although Doug Drexler has said that in his mind the NX-01 was in the refit configuration when it got decommissioned. He said it in his Trek Yards interview about the refit.
Not exactly, IIRC Doug said he pitched the idea, but it was never approved before show was officially cancelled.
