In other news; I like what you've done with the design, but I would have preferred the Shepard-class to the Cardenas.

Centurian128 I understand why you may think that but the shepard seemed a bit too generic, the Cardenas has the 4 nacelles that make it unique and when TOS/AXA-ing the design it seemed to fit very well with the era :).

Yeah, I can see that. The Sheppard falls nicely in line with the NX to Akira lineage for me. There's just a few parts of the original Cardenas design that irk me. The nacelle struts are part of it. They look too thin in forward profile compared to the width, but there's really no way around that. I think what gets me most is the bridge placement. It's too far forward from what I'm used to in a standard saucer. I'm sure I'll get used to it though.

I like the Shepard more too, maybe it will get TOS/TMP-fied for the next era.

I thought the Kobayashi Maru was a freighter. Why is it in combat? Btw, since both the Crossfield and Cardenas are in this mod, will there be other ships from DSC included. A TOS-style Nimitz would be cool as a fleet command capital ship.

It's a fleet tender ship that can resupply your ships on the move. You'll want to have it in your fleet, and it can fight a bit, but you're right - it's not a front line combat ship.

Will we get to research-unlock its special ability that makes our computer crash by using faulty OS subroutines and next time we start the game, we automatically win, but a random nerd will be mad at us? (Maybe one with sleek eyebrows and anger issues?)

That would be some Pony-Island-level 4th-wall-breaking **** right there.

The ability will be called the Pine/Quinto Manoeuvre.

I absolutely LOVE this interpretation of the ship! It looks like the Cheyenne and Constellation finally go a proper ancestor in their design lineage, but the Cardenas looks like a leaner, meaner version of either of those two. Are there also interpretations of the USS Kerala or the USS Europa?

The Kerala was actually in the running for this ship's role, baut in the end the Cardenas won - the Kerala just didn't have a shape that distinguished it far enough apart from other ships in the fleet, and we want the Federation fleet to be a good mix of different shapes and sizes.

Never say never, of course, but at the moment the Federation ship list is mostly complete.

Any plans to add the Nimitz Class (the USS Europa) from Dicovery?

Fantastic work on the Cardenas; it's pretty nice seeing her with TOS-era nacelles.

Will we see other “TOS” styled discovery ships like the Nimitz class? I’d love to see what she would look like TOS style.

Description

USS Olympus takes part in liberating the planet Regulus. On board is a young lieutenant named Christopher Pike.

Six months after the Battle of Axanar, Federation forces had retaken nearly half of the territory they had lost. The Regulus system marked an important midway point in the war, being halfway between the Federation's core worlds and the borders of the Klingon Empire. A modest but prosperous colony, Regulus was a peaceful world and a popular retirement spot for Starfleet officers who felt that their time in the service was done.

As the Klingons had advanced through Federation territory, they had found the defences around Regulus relatively light. Starfleet at the time had been unable to commit to large battles against the Empire, and although a delaying action was fought to allow civilians time to evacuate, the planet was taken with relative ease - the remaining population resigned to living under Klingon occupation. Though a light resistance movement formed among the planet's Federation citizens, for the most part the occupation of Regulus was a comparatively peaceful one.

This changed when Starfleet finally pushed the Klingons back to the Regulus system. The Battle of Regulus was the largest battle of the war since Axanar, with the Klingon fleet putting up a tenacious defence. For the first time in six months, Starfleet was forced to withdraw in the face of the Imperial fleet and static defences installed in planetary orbit. Starfleet, however, would not give up on freeing Regulus.

Regrouping before Klingon reinforcements could arrive to bolster the defence, Starfleet attacked once more, this time emulating the famed tactic Garth of Izar had employed at Axanar - bypassing the Klingon lines and getting as close to the planet as possible, destroying the Klingons' remaining orbital defences in a single pass. Engaging the Imperial fleet once more, a pitched battle was fought in close orbit until, finally, the Klingons were forced into withdrawal.
