Standard Osean Air Defense Force tailcode markings font. Update - 3/8/2021 High precision rework + Stencils.
A unique decal set compiled into a True Type font set for all your skin/mod making needs. I dubbed this font Amarillo_OADF or Amarillo_Strangereal since this font is also used by other countries in Strangereal. in contrast to it's popular counterpart AmarilloUSAF. While both fonts look similar they are both unique by different angles and strokes.
This download contains 2 fonts and a preview image as shown:
ACES07_AMARILLO_OADF - Regular typeface
ACES07_AMARILLO_OADF_RI - Reverse Italics by community request.
Created in Adobe Illustrator & FontForge.
Latest update includes Stencil markings mapped to lower case glyphs however numerals must be fetched using a character/glyph map from your image editor or operating system.
Special thanks to VDINST_Rythus for providing extracted decal references from Ace Combat 7.
Revision
1.0 - Original Release
2.0 - High Precision rework - Added Stencils as lowercase letters + Extra & missing glyphs from previous release.
Cool. Will there be a chance for LongBeach OMDF? Since the USN one form TLai charge people people to use it, and the USN Stencil had strange spacing and width on some characters...
You mean the MIL-STD-2161C font? Design specifications of the stencil is publicly available which I did review the documents while making this font's miscellaneous glyph s.
Spacing issues can be temporarily solved by manually kerning characters in a image editor of your choice like Photoshop etc.
Though are many similar or same stencil fonts out there freely according from my searches.
I'm sorta burnt out from other projects involving fonts, emblems, and logos. However seeing myself doing fonts outside of Ace Combat's realm I can see arrangements for commission work on the subject matter.
If you're looking for the OMDF and OADF body/tail decal font I suggest using ACES04 font family for that.
As of now the basic typefaces are available. This font family will be expanded with more decals and markings referenced from
MIL-STD-2126C as a bonus and aid to other artist in their modding and art.
Not sure if the OMDF font is 100% the same with MIL-STD-2161C, but I used that one for a few of my OMDF skins. Your work is brilliant regardless, and No worries if you are busy. I can find ways around like using the accurate characters in USN Stencil and replace the bad ones from a reference sheet or something.
Can you provide image samples of this OMDF font? I would suggest getting in contact with me in discord for a more direct exchange on this current conversation (moddb doesn't allow image sharing in realtime).

If anything Ace Combat series uses many inhouse made fonts contracted by Japanese font foundries. While its not really my goal to clean sheet them all I prefer to work on typefaces that are most unique and eye catching to the game series.
Well sry that I don't have a Discord account, but here's something that I found:
Trigger's FG tailcode on F/A-18F(can't find a decent F-14D shot), the dash on G doesn't go out of the right-side edge like the USN font
Vignette.wikia.nocookie.net
Gargoyle's DN tailcode/ Count's HK tailcode + 851 bort/ Full Band's AD tailcode looks all good compared to 2161C. Sadly there's no more samples I can find, as the Wardog F-14A in 5 and Infinity seemed to use the Air Force font.
Currently I can't get access to AC7's textures otherwise I can have a better look.
Thanks for providing a sample image, I have requested the community for more screenshot examples across different games in the series. Turns out this font appears to be a modified Mil-STD font of a navy stencil.
Is there any way to download this as a font file? That way i could write with it in photoshop or illustrator and create markings. I dont want to use them in mods.
Its already a true type font in the download for use in PS/AI or your image editor of choice.
Have the font sizes of 1.0 and 2.0 been changed?
And if it's changed, can I get the 1.0 version?
