A subject of prime importance in any military force is transportation. The rotary winged aircraft, or helicopter, is an extremely effective method of transporting weaponry and personnel to the front lines of a conflict.

That being said, today we bring you the primary medium and heavy lift helicopter of the ISAF, the CH-47 Chinook. Capable of carrying a maximum 20,000 pounds internally, this flying beast can take 44 fully loaded soldiers to the battle at over 140 knots. Of course, there's only so much any helicopter can take, so don't go sending these things through ridiculous amounts of AA or you won't see your soldiers, or your helicopter, come home.

Here you can see some photos of CH-47s deployed in the Whiskey Corridor area supplying the ground forces taking part in the battle. The helicopters became an extremely welcome sight to the soldiers on battling through the gritty sand and burning heat of the desert, and often became known as "flying oases" to the soldiers.

Stay tuned for a look at some more Erusian equipment soon...
