The age is 2941 in the Third Age, Middle-earth has long prospored since the Battle of Dagorlad, in which Isildur, son of Elendil and the High King of Gondor and Arnor defeated the Dark Lord Sauron. But the realms of Men, Elves and Dwarves forgot their purpose and the Servants of Sauron roam the lands unchecked. Rumours are spreading of a shadow growing in the old fortress of Dol Guldur, rumours that The Enemy, Sauron, has returned. Middle-earth is being plunged into darkness once again, but who will stand to defend it? Men? Elves? Dwarves?

I just started playing 0AD and it's super fun. But I am a long time fan of Tolkien's writing and so I'm looking forward to this mod more than any other.
I know it's impossible to set a date for such things when most or all of the creators are working on it as a hobby and have jobs, families and friendships to attend that of course take precedent. But it would be great to get an idea of how long the wait may be, perhaps months, or years?
Regardless I'm excited to see this is in the works, and thanks to everyone for their efforts. ^-^
