The 21st Century Warfare tournament will be using the 21CW Mod as the basis for the continuing struggle between the four divisions of players that make up the 21st Century Warfare tournament. This release of the 21CW Mod will be the foundation that will be used to later add content, armies, weapons, and vehicles to increase the enjoyment and playability of the Battlefield2 engine, while also making the gameplay more suited for a balanced tournament-style battle. The 21st Century Warfare tournament is the largest Battlefield2 tournament on the internet with over 600 players participating in 12-hour weekend battles using real military rank structure, chain of command, strategy, and gameplay.

On the heels of the very successful initial release of the 21st Century Warfare Mod (21CW Mod) for Battlefield2, the 21CW Mod team is excited to announce the first update to the 21CW Mod is ready for download.

The major updates to the 21CW Mod are as follows:

~ Updated code to implement the changes made by BF2 Patch 1.0.3
~ 21CW Map Installer
~ Multi-language support
~ Auto-install of retail maps for use in 21CW Mod

Among other things, this patch will fix some minor issues based on the release of the Battlefield2 1.0.3 Patch released last week by EA Games and DICE. This will enable the 21CW Mod Team to modify the content in the 21CW Mod with the changes that EA and DICE have made to Battlefield2 as well as an added feature not found in any other major mod release, Multi-Language support!! This will enable the 21CW Mod to be installed on all the released languages that Battlefield2 supports. Also, your comments and questions have been heard and incorporated into the installation package, allowing the user to install the 21CW Mod and be instantly ready to play any of the retail maps released with Battlefield2.

The other major component of this version of the 21CW Mod is the introduction of the 21CW Mod Map Installer program. This small application will be installed to a user's machine and will allow users to immediately download any current or future maps to be used in the 21st Century Warfare Tournament to the 21CW Mod installation point. This makes finding and installing the custom maps from the 21CW Tournament easier and quicker as well as allows for the functionality of installing these maps without the use of an unzipping or unpacking utility. Getting the latest maps for the Tournament and Battlefield2 couldn't be any easier than with the 21CW Mod Map Installer.
