The Northern Excursion mod (once called the "Extreme Realism" mod) is a game-enhancement mod that introduces a new faction, the "North American Coalition" (NAC), re-introduces the jet fighter/bomber air vehicle types from Battlefield 2 and also brings back old features which were left out of the original Battlefield 2142 such as stationary machine guns, visual effects, unused voice overs and more.

Hello all.

You may have noticed it's been rather quiet...generally only a few photos posted every couple of Weeks/Days.

But here at Destruction Designs (ER) we have something fantastic to announce.

Many of you BF2 Veterans may remember that in Battlefield 2
there was more than just two factions.
Such as the PLA, MEC, And many more.

We've been taking to heart what people wanted to see in 2142, with that
in mind...We have started on what we call the "Northern American Coalition".

AKA the NAC.

Yes, You read right...a Third Faction.

But before we continue lets clear something up!

The NAC is composed MAINLY of Canada, The few Military personnel
and Civilians left when the US left and joined the EU are of course...Apart
of the NAC, but it's mainly Canada.

Now we've cleared that up for you US Haters (We still love you)
Lets explain how they work and how they're in the war.

When the US left America because it was slowly starting to freeze,
what was left went to Canada, they began negotiations to start their
own Coalition..Rather than just freeze and die.

However, there was no way to get all of their military forces to Europe/Africa.

but before the US left everyone in Military power knew what the Titan was.

3 Prototypes were developed on US Soil, one in Canada.

The NAC quickly rushed the development, but rather than developing
it into a carrier they fashioned it into a headquarters, a mobile fortress.

Everyone knows Titans are slow, So they made sure it was fashioned
into a Home of sorts...For the incredibly long journey.

In fact, the NAC reached Europe only in the exact year of 2142.

Their first target was Hamburg Harbor...Which will be a fantastic experience
to play due to its heavy Vehicle nature for Titan, and close combat for Infantry on Conquest.

Armament : Basic Head to Head heat seeking Missles
P&S Missles for AV purposes
Light AV Fragmentary rounds within the Minigun
TV Guided Missle Rack

Developed by the same company who made the UD-6 Talon, it was orginally used by the EU as their Gunship but discarded when the UD-6 Talon was designed and out performed the Specter in terms of "Air to Air" Superiority.

Though possessing no secondary Chain Guns like the Doragon or Talon, it has a unique way of moving and can easily out maneuver the two.

It is also capable of an Overdrive within its engines allowing it to go much faster.

The Minigun that it uses fires small fragmentary rounds meant for Light-AV purposes.

It also possesses "Point and shoot" Missles and head to head AA Missles like you'd see on the Doragon or Talon.

The P&S Missles are meant primarily for Anti ground, firing all 10 consecutively, it will go exactly where you point, enabling it to also be sometimes to used for anti-dropship purposes.

B-7 Liger :

Armament : Dual Experimental "Energy Rails" with two firing modes
X2 A-9 Firing Cannons

Developed along side the A-8 Tiger as an experimental Tank.

It would be the first Tank to use a type of Ammunition that would never need to be replenished.

Using a series of generators located in its back compartment, the B-7 fires a projectile simillar to the Anti Tank Ground Rorsche used by all sides.

However, the Tank is range bound, after 200 Meters the "Projectile" loses much of its needed energy to pierce any kind of armor.

The Tank is also equipped with two firing modes, Heavy and Light...Heavy is meant to do damage to Walkers and Tanks, while light is excellent for sniping out Infantry from longrange.

The Tank also has two gunners, rather than using the standard 50 Cal. like the Nekomata and Tiger did, it uses the experimental guns seen on the two "Grenade" Launchers that the Goliath has for its front gunners.

This makes them function as Anti Vehicle and Anti Infantry, enabling it to operate in all conditions.

However, the main gun is prone to overheat, it also takes longer for the main gun to recharge.

The Gunners also suffer from a lack of ammunition, simillar to the A-9 Goliath.

Irvine Class Riot Control Walker :

Developed by Ryan Irvine of The U.S Robotics.

Armament : Quadruple Barrel Type 19 Grenade Launchers : Archer Missles ( 18 for both Pods )
Dual Barrel Light Anti Tank Cannon

The Walker was originally never meant for war or anything of said nature, it was purely made for Riot control.

However, when the NAC needed something to contend with the EU and PAC's walkers, they immediately overhauled the walkers armament.

Originally using Teargas and Flashbang Grenades/Missles as well as a slug in the chest. The walker was outfitted with Archer Missles and Grenade launchers, this allowed the Walker to be far superior in terms of support, but made it near impossible to serve like the PAC's Bogatyr/Saigon or the EU's L-5 Rieseg.

Though capable of destroying armored vehicles, it must have the proper amount of support.

NAC Soldiers often bring atleast one APC to help the Walker deal with enemy Walkers.

Though it naturally cannot take them on alone, the Walker is faster than the Riesig or Bogatyr.


CHINOOK LAD-17 :

The Chinook L(ight)A(ssault)D(ropship) was developed around 2129 by Butcher Inc. as a light assault dropship.

It was one of the last Vessels of its class to be built with old style Fans rather than Jet engines.

Though considerably outdated, it is far more maneuverable and nimble than its EU and PAC Counterparts.

It however, suffers from its Engine being hit head on with an AT Missle, Its major weakpoint.

Most would say however, that its armament outweighs the risks, possessing 3 50 CAL single barrel cannons, two on the
sides and one in the rear, it is more than able to hold its own against both Infantry. and Air vessels.

However, these guns are not able to pierce the armor of a Tank, making it one of the only drawbacks, where as a Yastreb or Sheperd can provide air support with their Dual Guns to nearby enemy ground forces much easier.

Most Soldiers on the NAC however, disagree when they say the Sheperds/Yastreb weapons would be more effective,
Advanced crews are said to be doing "Bombing Runs" on enemy Armor by hovering to the ground and having Engineer soldiers drop their motion mines out the side with an Ammo crate next to them.

Indeed it could be said that the LAD easily out performs the Sheperd or Yastreb in terms of maneuverability, but it lacks the Armor that you'd expect from a vessel of its class.


We also have something else to show off, we're not gonna forget about already in game
features or adding new ones.

So lets show you something I hope all Squads will enjoy!

This is a very nice feature we are really hoping everyone enjoys.

As you all most likely know, we recently showed off the R1 Drone.

Apart from being made from the NAC, All Gun drones/Drones are being
moved to Normal kits, in order for more exciting Squad Leader stuff to be added, we had to
do it.

But lets move on to this new feature.

Some of you may remember that BF2 had Vehicle Drops, Well...ER will too!
Squad Leaders will be able to call down a 6 Manned Squad car, heavily armored.

Not as fast as a normal FAV, But it still gets the job done.

It is also armed with an EMP Cannon (3 shells total) making for easy get aways.


We would ALSO Like to announce destructible scenery!

that's right...Remember those fences on Gibraltar? Tired of people sitting behind them
and firing? Blow the **** out of it and get even.

Tired of those guys hiding on that Monorail Car? Blow it up too!

We also have a video of the Fences in testing just for you guys!
