The Northern Excursion mod (once called the "Extreme Realism" mod) is a game-enhancement mod that introduces a new faction, the "North American Coalition" (NAC), re-introduces the jet fighter/bomber air vehicle types from Battlefield 2 and also brings back old features which were left out of the original Battlefield 2142 such as stationary machine guns, visual effects, unused voice overs and more.
Here is the new air transport for the NAC, made by TheXHS.
We know it has "UN" markings and such so dont worry, they're markings anyway.
For those who are mad about the old tech heli blades etc... deal with it, lol.
And before anybody trolls about the lack of tail rotor: It's a NOTAR design.
So it will have machineguns and rockets? Won't that make it a bit too much powerful than their EU and PAC countarparts? (I'm also noticing this in the rest of the NAC arsenal, like railguns and stuff :S)
Well, I kinda agree with Sulphiristical, maybe the NAC choppers could be a little weak, I mean don´t have much defense than the others, and what happened with the older model? just asking. But guys, you are doing great!!!

Don't worry, it's not. Those little... texture thingy-ma-jigs (they're not really textures on a texture-map, they're like face-colours, something you can do in Sketchup) were just added by theXHS to make it look more complete.

Ha ha, more like an attack helicopter. I read your discussion above but if you want to keep it equal, maybe you should give the other transport helicopters pilot controlled guns.
We'll think about it. It would definitely be an interesting concept.
But I didn't really want those rocket pods in the first place, I just wanted the remote-control gunner chain guns like what the other air transports had. They can easily be removed anyway. Dtneter thinks we could give some air transport varients e.g. in a map you will get the regular air transport, and sometimes you will get a slower yet more armoured/well-equipped air transport (probably on a helipad rather than on a titan).

Look dann, I don't know where you got your definition of attack helicopter from, this is anything but!
It's an armed transport helicopter. Pretty much every transport helicopter nowadays is armed. ****, the blackhawk can carry 8 hellfires, 2 rocket pods, and in addition to that, its two door-miniguns. So no, this is not an attack helicopter.
I was referring to how it is compared to the other transports in the game. I'm saying if the NAC will have pilot controlled weapons, so should the other transports.

Hey this is good, design. I see it that it will work differently than the other gunships... since arn't the others meant to be corssed between helicopter and jets. And so this is a heli, it has real tough weaponry but what balances it out is that it's not the fastest of the lots. It should be made for air-to-surface attacks, not air-to-air, it shouldn't have a shield and only flares on it, that periodically get realeased while it flys. But thats where the NAC's jets should come in, is to keep the skies clear for this bad boy to own from the skies, without the jet it's a sitting duck and without the heli, the jets can only do just so much... I think this would be a great way in implimenting this guy.
