Personally, while it seems pointless and frustrating, I think there is a deeper meaning to this. I think it is a statement saying how no matter how bad a game is, we play, and keep playing, it to level up, gain XP and unlock literally meaningless perks, it's our human nature, to accquire things. Not saying the game is bad persay, just interesting.

Personally, I love this mod. It mixes a slight tinge of horror/shock, mystery with a suprisingly good fps shooter. I personally love the shooting parts the best (I'm still playing prolouge version one seeing as desura hasn't updated the files to include episode 1/prolouge version 2) and I mean, I just love how I can either be slightly stealthy and snipe some people (in the mall level) or just go in there guns a blazing and shoot up everything. :D
