I've been a Linux user for about 3 years now, and a gamer all my life. I'm very excited about Desura and so far it's definitely been a great program. I enjoy a lot of different kinds of games, but my favorite would probably be RPGs and MMOs.

TripleA

Game review

Initially this game didn't work for me on either Windows or Linux. Now it works on both! Huzzah!
I love Axis and Allies and this is a fairly faithful rendition of the original game.
My only beef now is that the computer is crazy hard.

Tremulous

Game review

This is a sweet game! I love the visuals, sound, and control! The multiple classes are also a huge plus. On top of all that, Linux runs it beautifully! This is all awesome!
Downsides? The community is terrible. Seriously, don't even attempt to chat with anybody on this game unless you like rude people being jerks and thinking it's cool as long as they add in memes like 'u mad bro?'

Earthworm Jim 1 & 2

Game review

I LOVE Earthworm Jim! That said, there are a number of problems with this port: first, it DOESN"T RUN on Linux! Second, controller support kinda sucks on Windows. I hope some updates make this game run more smoothly and fix the Linux problem.

Chromium B.S.U.

Game review

This is a fairly pretty game, but I must admit that there just ins't much to it. It feels more like a Flash game than a complete standalone game, which is a shame. I'd LOVE to see more work done on this game so that it will be a truly awesome vertical shooter!

Stunt Rally

Game review

A very pretty game, but the controls are not the best. It's quite difficult just to keep the car on the track!

Xonotic

Game review

For what the game is, Xonotic is really quite good. Not my style really. I prefer FPS games that are more strategic/aiming oriented and less manic/jump-a-lot-and-unload-your-gun. There is obvious imbalance in some of the weaponry as well. Nevertheless, the music, stage design, and looks of the game are very nice. I'd play this before, say, Nexuiz, OpenArena, or the other Quake-ish games.

Beneath a Steel Sky

Game review

I miss adventure games like this. Very few genres approach their content with the same tongue-in-cheek attitude that this game does! Not gut-bursting, but still there are many scenes and statements that pulled the corners of my mouth into a grin.

Abuse

Game review

This feels more like a high-quality flash game than a standalone full-on game. But if you consider how old it is, the quality of this game really is quite good. It's a fun game to play, I would love to see an update with a useful map and perhaps joystick control. (Maybe there is joystick control and I didn't see it. The keyboard controls are really kinda meh.)
All in all, it's a very fun, albeit simple game.

Warlock's Gauntlet

Game review

It's a fun game reminiscent of good 'ol Gauntlet. Runs great on Windows.... Linux? It restarts my system for me, which is really kinda terrifying. Not working is one thing, this is ridiculous!

Bean's Quest

Game review

Imaginative game. I LOVE how fun this game is even with simple controls. The only beef I have is that some of the platforms blend into the background. That's it! Terrific music, cute graphics, and cross-platform to boot! Thumbs up!
