Amnesia- Lifeless The Abandon

Mod review

Damn. This was one good custom story. I mean it!

Plot- Its a meh from me. You find a castle that noones heard of. Story about lunatic dude creating abominations, cannibalism. Oh, and can we talk about "you've HEARD of this castle that NOONES HEARD OF" wha??? 6/10
Atmosphere: I was really immersed. It felt so teriffying and well done. Props to you! 9/10
Scares: I freaked out every time i saw a monster. While yeah, they were placed where you would expect them, they were still teriffying. Oh, and the flying obscurity demon is a nice addition. 8/10
Lenght: Almost perfect lenght. Could've been a tiny bit longer, but thats my opinion. 9/10
Mapping: Damn dude! It felt really good seeing so much detail after playing multiple crappy custom stories. Really good. 10/10.
Puzzles : They were a bit too easy imo. Add a bit more challenge to it and see where it gets. 6/10
Bugs: There was a clipping wall, which broke immersion a lot. There was also a chasm where i could clearly see the bottom. 6/10
Originality: Now im kinda mix in this one. At one part, it was kinda unoriginal to have a prison level, but it was executed really well. Some other things too, but ill give it a 8/10
Grammar: The voice acting was just good enough to pass, and the text had some grammatical mistakes. 7/10
Gameplay: It was really fun to be going in all these teriffying places. Makes you feel like you are in the characters shoes. 9/10

Overall Rating: 78/100. Great.

Amnesia - The Dark Escape part 1

Mod review

I played it and it was very disappointing.

Plot- The plot is nonexistent. One text saying "escape dude there is crepy grunts and brutes" 2/10
Atmosphere: It was not very immersive. Felt lackluster. 4/10
Scares: Tons of predictable monsters, flying naked guys, I'VE HAD ENOUGH OF THESE! 3/10
Lenght: Meh. It was somewhat short. 7/10
Mapping: It was mostly empty. If you want to fill out and not copy it all over the place, make the room smaller! 5/10.
Puzzles : No puzzles. Just fetch quests. 3/10
Bugs: I tried to use the hammer on the boards and it didn't work. Dunno if intended or not. 7/10
Originality: Most levels were overused, most jumpscares were overused.6/10
Grammar: Some grammatical mistakes. At least it's not the lightning shadow grammar. 7/10
Gameplay: It felt soo lacking. It was just fetch quest after fetch quest. 5/10

Overall score: 49/100 or 5/10. Decent.

Side notes:
Overall, it was decent, but seriously, try better next time. It was really disappointing to see how shoddy it was.

The lightning shadow - Chapter 2

Mod review

I played it and i gotta say, big improvements.

Plot- Same plot as before. Ya investigate, trapped, yaddi yadda 6/10
Atmosphere: The atmosphere was at times, immersive. Im not saying that for the whole cs though. 7/10
Scares: Some monster encounters scared the crap out of me. Some did not. But it definently felt more unpredictable and better. 8/10
Lenght: A bit short, but good nonetheless. 9/10
Mapping: Mapping is quite general and ordinary. Most look like they have far more work done though. 9/10.
Puzzles : The chemical puzzle was pretty interesting, the rooms puzzle was straight up stupid, the shovel in chest had no hints and the cogwheel puzzle was really nice. 8/10
Bugs: No real bugs, but i think the waterfall in that one area was sorta weird looking. 8/10
Originality: Most stuff was a mix. Kaernk part is like always, straight up cliche, we've already seen tons of storage and back hall esque levels. 8/10
Grammar: The grammar? Still crap. Was it an improvement? Yeah. Voice lines? Check. Did they sound good? Meh. 7/10
Gameplay: The detail in these levels felt, at times, lacking, but mostly it was decent enough to pass. 6.5/10

Overall score: 76.5/100 or 8/10. Great.

Side notes:
The cs was a large improvement from the first chapter. I actually felt somewhat immersed, which is always a good thing.

The Shadow of the Ramlord

Mod review

Time to review this long awaited mod. And...OH BOY! WHAT A LET DOWN IT WAS...

Plot- The plot was way too hard to understand. It was like a damn puzzle. 6/10
Atmosphere: The atmosphere wasnt too bad. 9/10
Scares: There were no scares in this custom stories. But where it was intended to be scary, it was. 9/10
Lenght: I feel like the largest let down was how short the cs was. 6 DAMN LEVELS!?!? I was expecting at least 12! 3/10
Mapping: Mapping is something to really learn from. It was amazing. 10/10.
Puzzles : There were really no puzzles. Its just fetch quest after fetch quest. 4/10
Originality: I guess most of it was pretty original. Its just 8/10
Bugs: Dont remember any bugs. 10/10
Grammar: The grammar wasnt even bad or full of mistakes. its actually the opposite. ITS TOO PROFESSIONAL SOUNDING. Who the **** would ever understand this??? Why is it like this!?!? 7.5/10
Gameplay: There was a real lack of gameplay. Its just "listen to my dialogue and then walk 2 centimeters". 6/10

Overall score: 72.5/100 or 7/10. Good.

Side notes:
To be fair, im really disappointed. I was expecting it to be really good, but this is just....shoddy work. Not trying to offend any of you, just saying it couldve been far, far better.

La Caza

Mod review

Another review for one of the earliest custom stories ive played.

Plot- The plot is really original. I love how the original amnesia custom stories back in the early days had really interesting plots. Nowadays, its just "YOU IN MANSION HAHA YOU TREPPED ESKEP". There were some dull parts in the story though. 9/10
Atmosphere: Yet another example of amnesia-type atmosphere. Dark and gloomy, with lighted places. 10/10
Scares: The scares in this cs were pretty creepy, although the one with the pig was more hilarious than scary. 9/10
Lenght: Its perfect. Doesnt drag on, isnt cut short. 10/10
Mapping: Old, amnesia styled mapping. I always like this type of mapping. 9/10.
Puzzles were mostly stuff i have seen in vanilla amnesia. 7/10
Originality: An old, clunky temple in the middle of nowhere. Its been trashed by the amnesia community cause of just how much its been overused. This is one of the firet examples of it, so im giving a 8/10
Bugs: Dont remember any bugs. 10/10
Grammar: I dont remember any grammar mistakes. 10/10
Gameplay: Oh my. The gameplay fits the cs a lot. Its very... tmple esque. 9/10

Overall score: 91/100 or 9/10. Amazing.

Abduction

Mod review

I finished this cs so many times i practically remember every part. I thought maybe i should express my thoughts on the very first cs i ever played in amnesia.

Plot- This takes place 1 year after daniels events. This story is somehwst cliche, but this is the very first instance of that plot, so im giving it a 9/10
Atmosphere: The first time i played this mod i was on edge all the time. When i play it now i feel much less scared but holy hell man, it still scares me sometimes! 10/10
Scares: Monster encounters were terrifying. The storage, second storage and laboratory had many well placed encounters. Chemical storage was outright bizzare with the random monster scenes. Other than that, 9/10
Lenght: it felt like it dragged on too long. 7/10
Mapping: Old, amnesia styled mapping. I love this type of mapping cause it puts you on edge. 8/10.
Puzzles were mostly stuff i have seen in vanilla amnesia. 7/10
Originality: It had its fair share of overused areas (sotrage, laboratory and guest room), but it didn't feel like absolute dogshit like other custom stories *cough cough* the fugitive episode 1 and 3 *cough cough* 7/10
Bugs: there was 1 bug where i couldnt move the crank in the laboratory. Game breaking? Yes. Fixable? Yeah. Just load an old save. 5/10
Grammar: I dont remember any grammar mistakes. 10/10
Gameplay: The start fitted with the "abduction" name of the cs. Later on, though, it just felt like "am i playing another cs or abduction?". 6/10

Overall score: 78/100 or 8/10. Great.

The lightning shadow

Mod review

Plot- Pretty cliche. Usually expected from a "first custom story" 4/10
Atmosphere: It was just dark. Dark, dark, dark. Oh, and it eventually gets repetitive. 4/10
Scares: One word. Flying naked guys...... Also, too many monsters. Cut that crap out! 2/10
Lenght:Rather short, but i guess im not complaining about it. 6/10
Mapping:Ordinary mapping. Something you would expect from a beginner. Church was interesting tho, but i've seen it multiple times before. 6/10.
Originality:Storage? Check. Overused Prison? Check. 4/10.
Puzzles: It's just fetch quests. Thats all folks! 4/10
Grammar: Grammatical abominations. Holy ****, it was terrible, but at least the developer admitted it wasn't good. A very generous 4/10
Gameplay: Something you would expect from this storyline. Ya wake up, mysterious storage, prison level and mysterious force. 6/10
Overall rating:47/100 or a 5/10. Rather shoddy.

Amnesia escape manson

Mod review

i think what most people dont understand is that this is a joke mod quite clearly. Its supposed to laugh at every cs developer mistake and cliche (clipping walls, weird textures, void of nothing, cheap scares, etc...) its not supposed to be taken seriously at all. I am giving it a 7 overall because some parts were funny, others boring. What can ya expect tho?

Amnesia - The Fugitive - Episode Three

Mod review

Plot- so you just got out of marius' castle, and now youre going into...marius' castle? Wait wuh? Sorta confusing. 6/10
Atmosphere: There wasnt a real atmosphere, unfortunately... 7/10
Scares: there were some scares, and i gotta say they were pretty good. 9/10
Lenght:it drags on way too long than it should... 7/10
Mapping:mapping was as you would expect, quite ordinary, but the forest part and the 4 places with orb pieces were a very nice touch. 9/10.
Originality:ooooh ffs... why? Why did you have to copy the great work? Ughhhhh... 3.5/10.
Puzzles: it had quite a lot of puzzles, but overall, they were somewhat easy to understand. 9/10
Grammar: from what i remember, there were some grammatical mistakes. No grammatical abominations, but a grammar mistake, in my book, cant make it a 10. 9/10
Gameplay: there werent any special things that add with the plotl but eh, portal teleportation was a cool thing. 8/10
Overall rating:67.5/100 or a 7/10. Not bad, but couldve been far better.

Withering World

Mod review

Review time:
Plot-plot was pretty mundane. We have already seen such things in abduction and through the portal. 6/10
Atmosphere: creepy as hell! 10/10
Scares: there were no real scares, but when the monster came, i was absolutely terrified. 8/10
Lenght:a tad bit too short. 7/10
Mapping:mapping was beautiful and the ice cave design was gorgeous to look at. a well deserved 10/10.
Originality:the ice cave design was, again, gorgeous to look at. 10/10.
Puzzles: it wasnt anything i haven't seen before, but finding the crystals was pretty fun. 9/10
Bugs: no bugs at all. 10/10
Grammar: there was only one note that i remember, and i saw no grammar mistakes. 10/10
Gameplay:gameplay was really nice and fitting to the story. 8/10
Overall rating:88/100 or a 9/10
