LOST ISLAND : THE RETURN is a new mod for Crysis based on the now defunct hit TV show, LOST.

It has long been a fan wish to be able to roam the island freely. That has always been the main goal of this mod : to allow the fans to go back to the island, the WHOLE island, and be able to explore it all.

My online name is yung23, and I have been mapping the LOST island on and off since 2004.
Using the Sandbox2 engine I have nearly completed the LOST island in ONE level.

Due to the size restrictions of the program, the island is roughly 8km x 8km, but I have been able to place most of the features from lost into one map. The spacing between these locales is not as distant as it should be, but that may be a good thing when taking into account you do not want to see miles and miles of forest nor be forced to venture it just to arrive at another locale as it could get boring.

I am currently modelling and texturing most of the LOST locales, using screencaps as reference, often creating my own textures from the show or taking actual pictures myself when needed.

I hope tptb see that the island they created using Damon still has a few stories to tell, and this mod may be the best way to keep the "window open"/ yung23

The Millenium Falcon had more than one mission, So should the island.

I now have the island nearly completed, my terrain is fully modelled, (as close to the islands assumed topology as possible) but lacking final vegetation and texturing. I am doing many aspects of this at once and completely by myself. I spent four years as is just trying to create the islands topology as Danielles maps were crudely drawn. You may see all this in the above linked 3D map thread.

THE ISLAND STORY

THE RETURN OF DHARMA
Hanso's financial backers have recouped Dharma and kidnapped Charlie Hume in hopes he inherited some of his fathers abilities. They have also somehow managed to re-create the smoke monster and now seem to have control over it.
HOSTILES MUST BEWARE OF THE SMOKE MONSTER.

Their plan is to brainwash Charlie using the Hydra station. They are currently holed up at the Barracks but plan to move him shortly. If they get to the Hydra, they will be one more step closer to their goal and the mission will end with Dharma as the victor. (beginning MISSION THREE)

GAMEPLAY
I don't want this to simply be a mission mod.
I'd like a story to develop as members spend time on the island. Therefore, the island will flash through time, taking visitors to other "missions" thru a flash FX sequence while the next level loads with it's objects and environment.

ie : the FT statue will end up being a full-blown Tawaret figure, Beach camp will disappear, Dharma will vanish... other members will be met.. other tasks will be set... As the mod develops and gains users and missions are passed.. more missions and locales will be produced.

I hope a story picks up and am more than happy to point the audience in an already conceived direction. (I've been a fan of the show since 2004, and I might have a few ideas :))
The time limit of getting Charlie back will expire if not successful & if the Others fail, Dharma stays in control and mission three begins, placing Dharma at the advantage. If the Others succeed, mission two begins and Dharma has the disadvantage...


TEAMS and MISSIONS

MISSION 1
DHARMA
Your home base is the BARRACKS.Your goal is to take Charlie to the Hydra while defending your base from the "hostiles"
Equip yourself along the way at various structures such as the Flame, the Tempest, The Pearl,
The Orchid & The Arrow. Secondary mission : Retake the LOOKING GLASS to keep the island hidden from detection.

HOSTILES (OTHERS & LOSTIES)
Your mission is to save Charlie from Dharma. Do whatever you have to do to ensure they are defeated.
The primary goal is to find and open the swan hatch, taking control of it so that the button may be missed and other plans may be put into action. Do so by getting to the Black Rock and picking up explosives. There is a suitcase full of weapons near the crash site, distribute them to other members of your team when you find them. Should the team be successfull in taking over the swan, continue pressing the button until other structures and Charlie (the flag) has been captured or the game will end for all. Once Charlie is captured, let him use the key.
When the key is successfully used, the island will begin to flash through time.
This will be an advantage for the Others, MAKING TEAM Others WIN THE ROUND
The time limit of getting Charlie back will expire each mission if not successful, allowing team Dharma to win and other players to jump in.

MISSION TWO
ISLAND IS IN 1954....
The roles will reverse and Dharma will find themselves un-equipped, with no structures left to occupy nor pick ups left to gather. The Others will now have a new teammate as well... the smoke monster.
It is now free from Dharmas control and devices.

MISSION THREE
THE ISLAND IS IN THE YEAR 2011
Dharma was able to get Charlie to the Hydra.They are currently brainwashing him and the goal of the Others is to now stop their experiments.
The Others must now take control of the Orchid station so Dharma cannot proceed.

I realize I may have bitten off a lot here, but I want this to be awesome. I hope this type of play will be possible. otherwise, grab a gun and simply have fun.

If a story fails once the modelling and all is done, I will simply add weapons and pick up spots.
