This is an amazing game. I remember the day I got it... instantly fell in love with it.
You have the ability to go through the ages just like in Age of Empires - but you have a lot more ages to embrace.
I recommend ignoring the bad reviews and just moving on to play the addon AoC. Yes, sure, maybe it didn't add a lot of new stuff and wasn't really worth whatever its cost was back then, but nowadays its pricing should be fine regarding what has been added, right?

What we have here is a well done AI mod which fixes a lot of the stuff wrong with the standard AI.
If you want to have even more problems fixed, you should check out AEI's improved version of this (which also is on ModDB). It's exactly this mod but continued by another guy after these guys left.

I have been thinking about if there was anything that allowed us to use higher resolutions on good old AoE1, and here you go. This patch not only fixes the low resolution thing (it allows you to choose from multiple resolutions), but it also enhances the graphics of the old images to make the game look even better.
Since this works like a charm I am not able to rate anything lower than 10/10.

It's an okay mod. What really breaks this is the fact that it's very locked down. For example, it is impossible to create your own kingdom because 'it's not lore-friendly' as the creator put it. Bad reasoning - why not let the player decide if they want to abide by the books 100% or do their own thing in this world? If they don't want to do anything, they can just go and watch the series.

Additionally a greatly disappointing fact about this mod is its extraordinarily childish and rude creator. Just let this mod slide, as fancy as it looks.

A very well done custom story. The storyline has a lot of depth, which I liked a lot. You really want to know what has happened in those dungeons. Also, it had some difficult puzzles. However, there were some things I didn't like:
1. The bed which has the rope hidden beneath it, but you are not able to move it properly.
2. The music when you read the note about Salim getting insane, which would not vanish. It really got annoying after a while.
3. While the story itself had a lot of depth, the ending was more like ''YOU LOSE!'' or ''YOU WIN!''. Quite the out of character ending.
4. The probably-bugged ending. Maybe because RemoveTimer("CannotMove") doesn't work, but I'm not sure.

I think this is a great custom story with a nice environment and it well deserves 9/10.

Very well done mod. Of course it's not perfect, but that's more because of the nature of the M&B engine and its limits.

What I especially like about this mod is the overall art design and the fact that the Manticore tank uses Arnold Schwarzenegger as his voice. When I first started a skirmish and looked through the new ECA units / buildings I was like ''wow'', they did a great job making the factions really different, and I think I found my favorite faction. Even though there's no campaign (yet?), the team also spent a lot of time making up a proper story for this mod / Generals which is why I also salute these guys. This mod is absolutely great and very worth trying.

The demo was very promising. You can still see that it uses the Unreal Engine, but they did a very good job at creating new gameplay.
