Hey! I just finished going through your VN, and I love it! I did have a few thoughts while I was playing it though:
- There seems to be a bug with the controls. I could use my mouse to scroll up (go back) or scroll down (to move forward) during scenes. I've never experienced this in other VN's I've played before.
- The narration and voice acting seemed natural for the most part (though Molly's voice sounded a lot more mature than the others).
- I like that the volume for the BGM and voices can be adjusted, but Clarissa's voice was really recorded low, I think. It wasn't on the same volume as the others.
There were also some errors on the narration and the text being displayed on the screen:
- narration: waking morning text: waking moment
- narration: why don't we least text: why don't we at least
I've been planning to make a VN of my own using Ren'py (I already have some assets) but I always don't have the time, haha. Good for you for completing this!
I think you should try to make book 2. The story could open up to other possibilities. I'm really curious too - was this based on a personal experience of someone you know? The transition to high school really sucks sometimes though.
This is long, though. So yeah. I enjoyed the VN and would play whatever else you come up with. Good luck!
I'm impressed. For an alpha, the graphics look good (but can be improved more of course) and it seems to have a solid start. However, a few things I noticed was that one, people like me (who don't really read things before I play them hahaha, sorry), had to press a few keys on the keyboard before I realized how to equip, eat and drink my loot. It's really not a big deal but I thought I'd include it here.
Also, the second thing was that I felt nauseous just after 10 minutes of playing because of the sudden third person-first person shift on certain camera angles. This doesn't normally happen to me and I've played other games with this sort of camera/angle change.
I also noticed that my axe couldn't defend me from the zombies. I already found the gun but I wanted to try it first. A few whacks on the zombie's head later, I died.
I like the progress of the game though and I'm looking forward to see what else you improve in this game. :) Cheers.
Hi! I played this game just a few hours ago, and here are some comments:
- It looks okay as far as the release version goes.
- I sometimes spawned while the enemies continued shooting at me, so I always died without even being able to start.
- The undead become passive when I respawn (is that how it's supposed to be?). After I shoot them and they 'die', they don't react. They don't even stop moving.
- It takes too many bullets to kill just one of the undead.
- I also had issues with picking things up and moving them (like the boxes).
I know it's a bit too early for a real review, but all in all, it looks promising for an FPS game. (My first review by the way.)
Cheers! Keep developing. :)
