The Horus Heresy was the first and most devastating civil war in Imperial history. Occurring in M31 and lasting less than a decade, it divided and nearly destroyed the fledgling Imperium. It marked the end of the Great Crusade and the encasing of the Emperor of Mankind into the Golden Throne.
Intresting, I read somewhere that they only have the publisher rights not the actual game making rights...yet.

Why not just base the game around a certain time in 'The Silmarillion'? WB does not own the rights to that era, only the Tolkien estate who are not fans of the movies anyway.
