Congratulations SWR team
I think it's for the best the f2p/premium subscription incarnation of C&C has been scrapped. I think if they had stuck to Generals 2 they may have gotten better results.
No doubt though, the next C&C game will be years away from now. They've even layed off the team that was working on this so that tells you something.
I'm still around. Just been busy.
I'll be updating some stuff and making some announcements in a few weeks..
I wonder if this is his office or what.. I see Monopoly and a Mr Potato head in the bottom right xD
And once again it's proven that wearing a bright red coat in the middle of combat does make you an easier target. That's right, the Chinese weren't paying attention when Britain was conquering the world and failed to take notice..
Furthermore, I hope in this C&C we get skyboxes. We've seen plenty so far. So they must be a feature in game..
These weather effects are really good. They have a realistic look. Great presentation Gunship :)
Mate, they can't release something they don't have yet.
Go to M2TW/mods/Third_age_3/ and launch Third Age.bat.
That is some really great work there. I looked through some more of your images and saw one I particularly liked: Moddb.com
You should upload some of it here on C&C Paradise so more people can take a look at it.
These look really good ;)
I did not realize it was an April Fool's joke until halfway through the article when things got more and more bizarre lol
My thoughts exactly, Nuke Cannon looks good. But from this angle the Helix looks a little.. Ehm 'unstable' maybe?
In full screen I think the Nuke Cannon generally has a good design and fits in with the rest of the APA's roster so far, but that 'Helix' in full screen looks even MORE ridiculous than I thought lol.
I think you can upgrade it either way now.. (boys AT or vickers)
Simply releasing the current state of a mod (whether as an incomplete demo or as modders' resources) or 'giving' ownership to someone else makes the entire thing sound more simple than it actually is. Modder's have different views on matters, some are fine with releasing THEIR work as-is or handing over the project. Others don't want work they put so much time into simply 'used' by someone else however they please. Call it greedy or selfish if you will, but it's up to them.
With that said, I have no idea what will happen to this project or the work though. I suppose work may resume at any time, we may get a release out of the blue from a closed development cycle maybe. Or we may be left forever to simply watch this amazing gameplay trailer and think about the mod that never was too.
220.127.116.11. changelog: Blitzkrieg-mod.de
The new update does have some gameplay breaking bugs for the WM Terror and the PE Tank Destroyer doctrines.
This will be fixed in 18.104.22.168. (among other things)
Here's the changelog: Blitzkrieg-mod.de
Didn't everything in TS to begin with look like crap?
Exciting news for 4.0! I must admit, I still feel a little wary about this switch to BFME1 style gameplay. But in the end, I always felt it was a chore and waste of time *usually* to build a wall in BFME2 when I could spam towers instead. If it will allow for a more advanced AI, a real 'keep', and siege battles (not to mention the real ones like Helm's Deep that may actually be playable with the AI now) I am thoroughly excited about this next release. And, it will get rid of the mindless building of farms around the map.
To those that think a BFME1/2 hybrid would be a good idea: if you have ever modded or been on a modding team you should know that nothing is more draining than doing everything TWICE. If the Edain Team wants to do it in the far and distant future then that's great, but for now let's give this new decision a chance and see what happens. Also a few have pointed out the differences between a wall and keep to a fortress and 'barriers'. That's obviously to further different the factions from one another.
-harder to siege
-easier to destroy once breached
-easier to siege
-harder to actually finish off
I do hope the armor/resistances/health of buildings, keeps, walls, fortresses, etc will be adjusted and balanced accordingly with this switch. As of now they all seem a little fragile to just be tossed in to this new type of gameplay.
North Korea-something maybe?..
First off it's not possible in C&C95. Secondly, the skirmish present here is just LAN with AI players. (which Nyerguds has made very clear in the FAQ/manual)
Arma 2 free and Operation Arrowhead works fine. (I've used it)
I have been getting complaints about the download for Shockwave not working, I just tried downloading from Gamefront with no problems. Their servers seem to be prone to going down a lot, it is the holidays too which mean more people are off work or out of school and could be adding extra strain to their servers. Just wait a few hours (maybe a day if neccasary) and you should have no trouble downloading. If you cannot download from Gamefront with the current upload, another upload likely will not help if they're experiencing server issues.
It does sort of reminiscence one of TW. The map looks very life like.
I had that same problem before I installed the C-Patch. If the C-Patch installer is not working, you could use Winrar or 7-Zip and manually extract the patch and copy+paste it into your AoE2 folder.
Would definetly not work on WH40K. That game uses entirley different file types and coding.
It's possible that something of the sort may be possible on WH, but I personally have no idea where one would start having no experience with WH modding.
Those maps look very good, also excited about the addition of a bot/skirmish mode. So many FPS neglect this feature and it shortens the lifespan of the game in the long run by a very large margin.
It looks like the Humvee just got launched out of orbit judging from the angle it's facing :P
Not true. There are plenty of RTS mods in the top 100. CoH: Opposing Fronts has 4 mods. C&C3 with 3 mods. C&C Zero Hour with 3 mods. Even C&C Tiberian Sun and Yuri's Revenge has a mod apiece that's in the top 100 and look how old they are. The BFME1 just isn't one of the more popular games out there. It's overshadowed too much by BFME2/RotWK. (The Edain Mod made it in the top 100 again)
I'm really glad this will have a skirmish mode. Will it support LAN?
