Lack of HL2 mods

ToxicM Blog

I am sure some of you remember the amount of HL1 mods that where made back in the day. I remember even Planet Half Life had a "Mod of the week" section. They had a new mod every week.

There must be a lack of interest for people to play mods.
Now we see still a lot of HL1 mods, and even some of them are still supported. Though strangely enough not many of the popular HL1 mods where made for the source engine, true that people have had a long time to wait for the HL2 game engine to come to the market, yet from how I understood Valve designed the Source engine so you could quickly port HL1 to HL2.
Though I have no idea how the modding works, but if they did not make it simple to port old mods to the new engine I really wonder why? The mod's for HL1 where what kept HL1 alive long enough for HL2 to be still popular, and ironically HL2 was also a very short game too.

Who knows, I sure don't but I remember the good day's when Counterstrike Blew my mind.
