pretty sure you can do those things in V. Most of the other things you mention, I really can't say I miss too much. Only beef I have with V is the smaller map.

Hmm, I dunno. I kind of prefer how the layout and color pallete of the hl1 map looked here...the floor texture and ceiling, and that control platform. I guess it was very star trek influenced (like a lot of stuff), but it was memorable and looked cool.

I thought the whole "sexualized nurse" thing was meant to be a trope of SH2, and James'sexual demons taking form during his journey into the Otherworld. The repeated use of the "sexy undead nurse" meme in following games (by the US developers) made no sense contextually.
